A couple of questions....
-If you have a failed IVF cycle, do you start the next cycle right away or do you wait?
-If you asked your doctor for a copy of your records, how long did it take to receive them? Did your doctor contact you to inquire why you were requesting your records?
-If you consulted with another RE, were you able to start a new cycle right away? Or did you have to take a month off to get stuff in order?
THANKS! I am just trying to prepare myself for my next move.

Re: A couple of questions....
I will answer your questions but you need to relax and think positive. I just got my - beta on 4/3 from my 1st IVF cycle. I asked for my records that same day I went for blood work and got them 14 days later. You have to write the reason you are asking for them and it had to be approved from my RE before they were able to make the copies. I called a new RE that same day but the earliest appoitment for consult was 5/13. I just met with my RE last week to see what he thought went wrong and for a new action plan. He is changing my protocol and said I could start as soon as I got my period again if I was ready. I dont know what to do because the new REs appt. isnt til the 13 and I am going to get my period any day!!!I am really confused. So technically I had to wait 1 cycle and I ovulated very late after the failed IVF. Hope this helps. But try and not think about the what ifs til you get the call.

-If you have a failed IVF cycle, do you start the next cycle right away or do you wait? With my RE, I started my cycles right away. However, i did have to wait for AF who can take a while to show herself
-If you asked your doctor for a copy of your records, how long did it take to receive them? Did your doctor contact you to inquire why you were requesting your records? After my second IVF cycle, I asked my nurse for a copy of my records. She gave me a form to fill out which asked for the doctor I wanted them sent to. i told her I wanted them for my own personal record. I had them at my next appointment, two days later.
-If you consulted with another RE, were you able to start a new cycle right away? Or did you have to take a month off to get stuff in order? while I WAS considering consulting with someone else, I chose not to and can't answer this question.
THANKS! I am just trying to prepare myself for my next move.

I always started right away

I requested my records and had to write a letter of release. I got my records at the next appointment.

When I consulted and switched RE's, I had to do a battery of testing before starting a cycle so it took a few months. If I call correctly, I started my IVF cycle approx. 4 months after consulting with the RE.

I can only answer this one since we didn't switch REs.
We went right into an FET cycle after our failed IVF. I started BCP 2 days after AF came after the failed cycle... and it was about 6 weeks until the actual transfer.

**Started next cycle right away...but still had to do BCP all over again.

It took about a week or so for me to get my records, but I had them send them to my medical doctor so I didn't have to pay for them. I had a lot of pages and they wanted like $150

I saw Dr. B for the first time in December. He ran a bunch more tests on me and I got into the February stim cycle (started BCP in January).

Re: A couple of questions....
If you have a failed IVF cycle, do you start the next cycle right away or do you wait? My RE advises to wait at least one month between cycles. For me starting again right away wasn't an option because of $$$ (I am self pay). My cycles have all been a few months apart.
-If you asked your doctor for a copy of your records, how long did it take to receive them? Did your doctor contact you to inquire why you were requesting your records? I think it took a few weeks to get them in the mail and I had to pay to have them sent to me. I never heard from my RE at all.
-If you consulted with another RE, were you able to start a new cycle right away? Or did you have to take a month off to get stuff in order? I had to wait several months just to get an appointment with my new RE. Then a few more months for testing, and DH testing with urologist. There was another RE I went for a consult with who was ready to start me right away.

Re: A couple of questions....

I got pregnant my first IVF cycle, but lost the pregnancy. I was able to start a new cycle as soon as my beta was below 5, which took about 4 weeks. Otherwise, I would have been able to start right back up.
-If you asked your doctor for a copy of your records, how long did it take to receive them? Did your doctor contact you to inquire why you were requesting your records?

I never changed RE's. But I would assume many RE's would require their own testing to be done prior to cycling.
THANKS! I am just trying to prepare myself for my next move.

Re: A couple of questions....
I just called Braverman's office and they surprised me by putting him on the phone! I explained the situation and he is seeing me on Wednesday. I feel good about it.
