This was frustrating-update on me
I'm trying to get my Crohns under control before cycling again. I did the CT scan and they found no active disease. I know there's something going on there so next step is a colonoscopy. Great..fine..doc says (new doc who is like 12) says we can get it done quickly. Great. I call to make the appt and the quickest they can get me in is May 27. Oh Come On! Have I waited long enough with this crap???
I tell the doc's office that she said she would get me in fast..she calls me back.
They can get me in this Friday. Now that's what I'm talking about! I hate that I have to be out of the office a day and a half which includes the prep but I really want to get this over with.
I just hate this part of my disease more than the actual disease. The diagnosing tools just suck.
There is still a chance I could cycle in May. I really hope so. There are things I have done to prepare for cycling and I don't want to wait. Jeez, I'm 42..I'm terrified of waiting any longer. I feel that every month I wait I'm going to have less of a chance.
I hope all of this is worth it.

Re: This was frustrating-update on me
I should be able to. If they get me on meds asap after Friday which they should, I should see improvement within 2-4 weeks. If I have improvement it means it's working and I can get in around the 3rd week in May when I will be Oing again..the very end of May would be when I start stims.
Keeping my fingers crossed that there is nothing really going on and they can put me on front line meds and not heavier duty ones.
It would be one less thing to worry about cycling and possibly getting a BFP!
So many obstacles. Lets hope after this I won't have any more.
It's a marathon not a sprint huh?

Re: This was frustrating-update on me
More drama.
I get the instructions about the procedure which I've had before somewhere else. The sedation is different. They don't put you all the way out..it's light sedation. They would have to get an anesthesiologist and that wouldn't be until may 18.
I call my other doc to find out what they used and it's different.
I call the new doc's office to ask them how the sedation compares. (btw they are really fed up with me now)
I just don't have enough info to make this decision.
I run the risk of losing the spot. Great. I also run the risk of losing the May 18 spot.
Wonderful. Now I wait to hear back from the doc's office about how the two sedations compare.
am I nuts? Wouldn't you want to know if you were going to be put out or light sedation.
I wish I was the anesthesiologist I would know this.

How frustrating!
I had "light sedation" - I think it was called twilight or something for my ER and it felt exactly the same... they started the IV and next thing I knew I was waking up in recovery!

Re: This was frustrating-update on me
It's now scheduled for May 18. The doc said that she would feel more comfortable with an anesthesiologist considering that's what I had before.
Ok, then..someone made the freakin decision. I know I couldn't.
Sometimes knowing too much can be bad too...I know enough to make myself nuts.
