Holy Cow - is this true?
So I just got off the phone with Dr. B office today. They called me to go over the insurance. I thought I had good insurance and that IVF is covered (which it is) but I just found out that the medications are not covered and they are said to be priced at $6000 - $8000 per cycle. I had no idea the medications were that much money. Yikes. I don't have that kind of money laying around. Now I am not sure that I want to do IVF. How depressing!

Re: Holy Cow - is this true?
Yep, they are that expensive.
You may be able to get donated meds from some of the ladies here who have had success or if your clinic has a donated meds program you can get it from them.
There are also websites that can help.

Unfortunately, yes.
Like PPs said, try getting any donated meds that you can - and freegaragesale also.
And just try to search aroud - there are a few different places to order meds, and some are significantly cheaper than others!

Re: Holy Cow - is this true?
check with your RE's office too to see if they have any meds that were donated back. I just donated back an extra Gonal-F pen I had.

Re: Holy Cow - is this true?
You need to ask for donations.. Ask Dr B if anyone donated meds to his office that you can have.. Get a list of meds for your protocol and post it here.. see who has left over meds you can use.. Thank God for the ladies on this board.. I received most of my meds from them and would not be prgnant right now if they were not so kind and generous.. Please do not give up..
