Bruising from bloodwork

How do u explain the bruises on your arms from the frequent blood work? I look like a junkie. In the winter, at least u can cover it up. Yesterday at work, some students came in my office, looked at my arms, and then looked at each other with raised eyebrows. Do you acknowledge looks like that? Do u cover your arms?

Re: Bruising from bloodwork

I wouldn't acknowledge it..if anyone dared to say anything I would just say I had some bloodwork done and leave it at that. My office is always cold so I leave a 3/4 sleeve sweater at work and usually wear it so i haven't had to deal with that. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Bruising from bloodwork

i know its terrible, i dont know what im gonna do now that its getting to warm for sweaters, i would just say i went to the doctor for bloodwork and leave it at that, if the bruising is that bad id invest in some 3/4 inch sleeved shirts for now but i dont know about the summer

I've only had very small black and blues. Barely noticable.

I always bruise horribly. What helps is keeping pressure on it and hold your arm sort of up above your heart level for 2-3 minutes after they put the bandaid on.

I have a huge one now. If anyone asks, I am going to say I donated blood in a blood drive. Let people think I am altruistic!!!!
