Passports necessary?
So is there anywhere you can travel without a passport at this time? (specifically the Caribbean) TIA

Off the top of my head I know you can go to the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico with out a passport.

if you travel by AIR to any area of the Caribbean that is NOT a U.S. territory or common wealth (Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands only)
you MUST present a passport.
traveling by cruise ship you can still use a driver's license and birth certificate until the change in June of this year.

I believe PR or US Virgin islands are the only islands you can travel to w/o a passport, like others have said above.
on a side note, it doesn't take that long anymore to get a passport. I know there were issues with extreme delays a few yrs back, but it's much more efficient now. it only takes 2 weeks now.
