Grooming after vaccinations?

Rocky has a check up and is due for his vaccinations so he will be getting those on Saturday. I made an appt for him to get groomed after the vet. Is that OK? Not sure if there is a "waiting" period.

TIA

Is this the first time you are taking Rocky for shots? If it is then you don't know how he will react to the shots. I would not take him. If you have taken him for shots before and he has never had a reaction to shot, then it should be okay.

Re: Grooming after vaccinations?

No it's not the first time. It's his annual check up. We have had him for 8 years already (he's 12 years old).

Do you think it's fine? I've never taken him to get groomed right after his shots...but he has received vaccinations and grooming separately and is always fine.

hmm....sometimes they are sore or develop lumps from the shots. I woudl personally postpone it, I really would. Esp if he might get stressed out with vets office then groomer. JMO Chat Icon
