I think I had my moment today
You know, the one where you go "what the heck am I doing?"......
Tomorrow I have to get back on track. Last year I worked so hard to lose weight and with the help of working hard, a trainer and my diet I lost 28 pounds. I don't even want to know how much I've put back on. Definitely not all of it but enough that I hate myself.
These days I'm finding it so hard to find time for "me". I'm so appreciate that with the photo thing I'm busy b/c I love it but at the same time I'm always running someplace and either forgetting to eat or running someplace bad to grab something b/c I'm starving.
I look awful - I feel gross - I've never been this fat in my life and it makes me so upset.
Tomorrow I have to stop - I have to eat better. I have to walk. I have to get to the gym even if its 2 times a week.
So Barb, if you see this - I'm picking you up at 8:15 and we're walking for 45 minutes and working our way back. Its time for me to take responsibility for my health. I owe it to myself - I owe it to my kids b/c right now I'm an accident waiting to happen.
Momma needs to bring sexy back Wish me luck - I'm going to need it. Any advice is also welcome

Re: I think I had my moment today
Good luck.
I felt the sam way, especially the "no time to do it" but I finally started and its been 3 weeks and it definately gets easier to get in the routine. Once you start eating right and doing some exercises I feel you are more apt to stay on track.

Re: I think I had my moment today
You can do it! We all lose motivation, time & discipline...the fact that you know you need to make changes and are willing to do them is awesome...take it one day at a time and make small changes each day...over time they will add up and you will see the difference!
PS your photos are beautiful...i am BFs with Laurie from LA Blossom & added you as a link on her site awhile back..small world...good luck in everything!!

Re: I think I had my moment today
I completely understand where you are coming from.
I was doing SO WELL and then I was not. And I totally can identify the 'reasons' but all the rationalization in the world doesn't make up for the fact that I gained half the weight I worked so hard to lose back in a SINGLE MONTH.
Off the wagon and back on.
I guess I look at it as the only thing that can be done is to pick it up and start to work again. One day at a time. I'm tired of seeing day 1 again - but I've gotta remember that in order to stop going there over and over.
Good Luck Lori! I know you will do GREAT again!

Re: I think I had my moment today
I hear ya Lori. I've been feeling this way myself. Well with the exception of being so busy working I'm not eating or eating crap. I'm not working and just laying around Today I walked 3 miles...LOVE walking..it just has to be nice out...took the weights out of the attic...and did some lunges. We're on our way. We ALL can do this before summer

Good Luck Lori!!
I feel the same exact way. I finally realized that at 14 months pp, I no longer have an excuse. I joined Weight Watchers today and I am so excited to finally feel good about myself again.

Re: I think I had my moment today
I'm with you Lorie! I've been running for 25 minutes 4x a week- for about a month now.
Its so hard to keep motivated but its the ONE thing I will not sacrifice. I will give up all other ME time but I really need to exercise to stay well- it makes me a better mom.
We CAN do it!!

Re: I think I had my moment today
OMG! I had the same epiphany yesterday!
I brought my fat a$$ to the gym in my building and signed up.
Even though it is 2x the cost of any other gym.
It is in my building. I have my own locker that I can keep my sneakers in. They provide shorts and Tshirts.
what's my excuse now? none.
if i don't do it, I will be washing good money down the drain.
I think sometimes you need to hit rock bottom and just get fed up with everything.
otherwise you will always make excuses. I know I do!
Good luck to you lori!!!!

Re: I think I had my moment today
How are you doing so far Lori? It's definitely time to get some more "ME" time in your life! You may want to give yourself some smaller goals to start out with. I find it always helps me to pre-plan my meals for the week and my exercise routine.
Best of luck to you!!!

Re: I think I had my moment today
I am with you ... I had a little moment yesterday.
I am starting a new job on Monday and because my last job was VERY casual (I wore jeans almost every day), I definitely need new clothes. So I went to Banana Republic to buy some clearance stuff and my regular size DID NOT FIT. I knew I gained some weight since the wedding (married in Oct) -- but I hadn't seen a change in my clothing until yesterday. I was really good for the 9mos before the wedding, working out 3x a week and I toned up, but after the wedding, I gave myself time to just eat what I wanted - and right around the time I said, ok, no more of that (january) - I got laid off.
You would think I'd have plenty of time to go to the gym and exercise, and I did - but I just didn't do it. I quit the gym because I wasn't going and even though it hardly cost anything, I figured, it's an expense I don't need right now.
I started running / walking a few weeks ago but haven't been really keeping at it - I've gone 1-2x a week tops. Now this week I've gone 2x already and I am gong to go again this morning.
WE CAN DO THIS!

This week has been a bit rough - my allergies are AWFUL and of course I got a sinus infection. Good news is that I'm not hungry and am eating a lot less so I lost 3 pounds
Definitely not the "right" way but at least I'm not shoving everything in sight in my mouth and that is a step.
I need to find a med that works for me so I can walk and not have an allergy attack while I'm doing it. But I have a certain someone (cough, Barb, cough, nrthshgrl, hint) that is complaining just as much as I am so we have to start walking asap. I miss walking - doing it with someone makes it go so much faster. Last year we were walking 4-5 miles a few times a week.
Thanks for asking
