I've been thnking about changing RE's

I currently go to RSNY but I've heard nothing but awesome things about Dr. Braverman so I'm thinking of going for a consult with him.
Question though....I believe he has a few offices (i think one is in the city)...does anyone know if he does IUI's in his Long Island office?
Also if I do decide to go with him - how long does it take to get started with cycles....in other words do you think I can get started right away or does it take a few months to get started (I'm doing IUI's right now).

Hi Lisa!

i cant say enough about Dr. Braverman, he is an amazing doctor! i can go on and on about him !

its so funny you posted this though because i just FM'ed Sassy about the IUI's in the office.. i just had a IUI treatment.. but we BDed on our own after the trigger.. so this cycle we are doing the whole treatment process..

but his other offices are in westchester and the city..

he had me start the cycle as soon as i could!! he didnt want to waste any time.. but of course i had to get the recurrent work up .. (i have never been to a RE before him) so otherwise we would have started right away.

good luck in your decision! i am here if you want to talk! Chat Icon

Re: I've been thnking about changing RE's

Hi there..

Braverman does do IUIs in his office (not sure about IVF)..

REgarding how quick it takes you to get set up:

I first saw Braverman end of January on my CD 7 - he did some bloodwork in the office for insulin & FSH. I had already had the HSG w/ my old doc and they had seen a fibroid (possibly) and I had a hysteroscopy on CD9 at Braverman's office. At that appt he gave me the script for Metformin & pretty much said I had PCOS from the prelim bloods.

I had the major bloodwork for clotting issues, etc the following Monday. At that point, it was CD 12 and I was told to just hang out & call him when I was CD1, which I did.

I went in on CD 4 for bloodwork & sonogram and was put on Letrozole..was back in following week and had two IUIs that week as well..

So- he pretty much gets you going right away!

Dr. Braverman does IUI's in his LI office (Woodbury) and he does IVF out of his NYC office.

He really is a great doctor.

Oh thank you girls soooooo much!!!!! I am seriouosly considering it. My DH was dead set against changing RE's but I just had a talk with him and told him how much I wanna switch. I told him we will do one more clomid cycle with RSNY (since I have my period now) and then if this doesnt work I will make a consult appointment with Dr. Braverman. He agreed because he sees how unhappy I've become.
Thank you all again so much for the input!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Change! I did, and I'm so thankful that I did!!! He diagnosed sooo many more things that my other RE missed. I promise, you won't regret it!

I love him too. He is a great Dr! He moves very fast, he understands how impatient women TTC are. I went to him 3 weeks ago for a consult and already had all my blood work done plus CD3 sono and blood and the hysteroscopy and we already have most results back. I will be ovulating soon so this cycle is out, but he says by next cycle we will be TTC again.

Re: I've been thnking about changing RE's

I consulted with him yesterday and believe he is one of the better doctors. He thinks out of the box which is what I was looking for. Although my age is the real issue of not conceiving (quality/quantity), he is willing to look at a few other issues with me. Current RE doesn't think I have any other problems except age.

Dr. B gave me good advice on supplements and reinforced some things I have picked up on the internet.

I feel the consult is worth it. He will run tons of blood which I give freely LOL and will see where it leads.

GL on your journey

Ann

I think it is always good to "shop around" and see what someone else has to say. A consult is a good way to know where you are at and where you might want to go. I have even brought stuff back to the current RE and said, how about this..just to see what their take is! GL!!
