?regarding the nike +
I don't have the nike +shoes but I bought the pouch for the shoe lace and the chip. Well today was my first run with it and it was wrong It said that I ran 4.7 something in 40mins but mapmyrun and me driving it came out the 4.5something. Could it be wrong because it's on my shoe lace and not my shoe?

Re: ?regarding the nike +
I'm not sure about the pouch part I have in my shoe), but I have noticed that all my runs from googlemaps are off. I think it might even be from running close the curb and cutting corners closer than a car does, etc KWIM? 4.7 to GM's 5
the nike+ is a tiny bit off. I ran a 4 mile race and it came in at 3.96...so about 1/100th a mile...not too bad.
It was funny, b/c I told DH that the first mile was exactly right...he told me he heard someone say that the first mile was off a bit...so I guess they put it 1/100th mile further...LOL
I've checked nike+ with my GPS watch too and it's pretty much on, but still off from google maps.
why not take it to the track to double check
ETA: have you rebooted your ipod? sometimes I have to do this...I lost a workout once and another time I noticed it had me going at 16 min miles...while running a good pace...both times after I rebooted it was better.

Re: ?regarding the nike +
reboot is holding the pause and the center (I think) for the nano. maybe menu and center - but I think pause and center. I usually have to try both by the time I figure it out. You hold it until you see the apple logo come on.
when I lost the workout, I noticed that my history wasn't there when I selected a workout. I read up on the nike+ forums and others have the same issue.

Re: ?regarding the nike +
4.5 and 4.7 don't sound so off to me. The other day I ran outside and my Nike+ said 4.38 and it was mapped as 4.2 I just attribute the difference to running on the sidewalks versus in the middle of the road where I am mapping.
It will be interesting to see what reading I get at the 5k tomorrow. I will probably recalibrate it tomorrow since the course should be very accurate.

not on the challange yet just trying to figure it out first I did it again today and again it was off a little but I plan on going to the track this wk for one of my runs to see if it's right or not. I know it doesn't sound that big of a diff but my time changes like today it said my time was 8.12mins and did a 5.8 but when i drove it it was 5.5 which made my time like 8:26. Prob just being silly but I can see how it can be off driving it as to running it so we'll see. let me know how accurate it is when you do your race. I would appreciate it.

You should calibrate your Nike+ to be more accurate with your way of running. Take it to the track and calibrate it for a quarter mile. It will be the most accurate after that. I calibrate mine every few months because it's starts to go off over time.

I wish i read this before I just got back from the track and I did 3miles and it said I did 3.3miles so it's off by .3. I guess I'll be heading back there this wk
