Need hugs

So I started my IVF this month. Started BC pills and now started Lupron the other day. I have been doing a ton of reading on this board and I saw that alot of you have done acupuncture. I called a place and made an appt. and really think that it would help me right now.

When I told DH about it he freaked out on me and told me that its costing us enough money and now I wanna do acupuncture.

He has no idea what I am going through. I just want a baby. I want to do everything I can this month so I am not stressed and worried about this whole procedure.

I feel like he isnt being supportive to me.

Sorry DH isn't being supportive right now. Maybe your RE can suggest a place that will give you a price break??

My DH had the same reaction. I didn't care and insisted on doing it - I needed it for my sanity. He grumbled, but dealt with it.

He's not the one going through the physical and mental torture - you are, and you need to do what you need to do to stay sane.

I would pull up that article from the British Medical Journal showing strong evidence that acupuncture improves IVF rates and show it to him - or at least, email it to him:

just go and don't tell him. When he notices that you are feeling better and less stressed you can tell him it's because of acupuncture.

DH thinks that acupuncture really helped me with stress.

He was also very opposed to me spending any extra money on things.

He eventually came around.

If you are just in need of some relaxation/stress reduction, you can try massage. I LOVE ME my massages...never could get into accupuncture. Also, from what I understand, accupuncture's best results on IVF cycles come from starting a few weeks ahead of the cycle...to give your TCM person a chance to know you and also for your body to start responding.
But if you really want to go for it, then I would tell him too bad, I NEED to do this for peace of mind. They get over it, always do!

I have a very very inexpensive place to go but its in Queens. She is terrific!

Yep, my DH constantly gets at me for the price of acupuncture. So, when we talk about the money on IF we spent... he always says "and what about the acupuncture"...ugggggg...

I am one who loves acu. I go to LI Holistic and they have these great beds that are heated and they put a blanket over me and put on soothing music. I usually fall asleep (and usually wake myself up because I start to snore...hope no one can hear me). I haven't gone in 3 months and I feel weird about it.

I also traveled 45 minutes each way because I live way out east. I had to have a break with the driving after my last failed IVF.

i will tell you that I had acu before 2 of my IVF ET's and not before the 3rd. I was a wreck before #3. I know it was b/c the acu relaxed me.

I was supposed to start back up on Monday, but obviously that got canceled. need to make one for this week.

it may help you deal with the emoitions that you might otherwise take out on DH
