Re: Tilapia Recipes anyone?

I jsut made this the other night

spray pan with Olive Oil Pam
place fish in pan
spray fish with PAM
cover fish with breadcrumbs (I used the panko ones).
I put some spices and grated cheese on the fish.
Spray with PAM again and I added a tiny bit of butter on top of each piece of fish.

I had 3 small pieces and baked at 350 degrees for about 25 mins

The fish comes out crispy like its been fried but its baked!! Chat Icon

I added some veggies...mushrooms, peppers and let it bake with the fish

I made this with flounder and chicken, I'm sure it'd be great with tilapia too. I used a package of good seasons italian dressing mix (the powder), mixed it with about 1/4 c italian flavored panko (you can use breadcrumbs too), 1/4 cup parm cheese, 1/4 cup romano cheese and about 1 tsp to 1 tbsp garlic powder, mix it all together and wet the fish then dip it into the breadcrumb mixture. Place in a glass pyrex or baking sheet. bake on 350 for 15-20 minutes and broil another 3-4 minutes. Check the fish before you broil you don't want to overcook it

Re: Tilapia Recipes anyone?

I think I posted this awhile back, but this is so so simple, and really good!

Mediterranean Tilapia

Mix together:
3 tablespoons sun-dried tomatoes packed in oil, chopped, and a little extra oil from the jar
1 tablespoon capers, drained
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons kalamata olives, pitted and chopped

Top 2 tilapia filets with above mixture and bake at 375 for 10-15 minutes, until fish flakes w/a fork.

I make it in the frying pan cajun style. This is also perfect for Catfish.

Dredge in flour then season with a mix of:

black pepper
white pepper
coarse salt
cumin
chili powder
ancho chili powder
dry mustard powder
oregano
paprika
lemon

EVOO in a stainless pan...4 minutes a side depending on the thickness of the fish.

I serve with a remoulade of mayo, dijon mustard, lemon, salt pepper, chili powder.
