Florida travelers
DH and I are booking a trip to FL for Easter week to see SIL. We need to fly into Palm Beach or Fort Lauderdale (they live in Boca Raton). Miami is also an option if it's much cheaper.
Any tips for finding a chepa flight, sites you recommend? The best we found so far was $250 round trip on Delta direct....
thoughts???

ETA: Updated: Found $219.98 (all taxes included) direct to FLL from LGA on Northwest. Not bad, right???

Although I'm not that fond of them, Spirit has a major hub in Ft. Lauderdale. In the NY/NJ area I believe they fly out of LaGuardia, and you can check their site for daily specials.

Thanks! My SIL mentioned them to and how she wasnt' a fan either! As long as it's cheap and I don't end up in the ocean, doesn't bother me!

We've used Spirit quite a few times to FLL from LGA & had no issues at all.
We only take them if the big seats are cheap though.

My sister lives in Miami but we always fly into Ft. Lauderdale bc we find it to be much more convenient. I have to say I haven't come across any good deals lately though. The price you got from Delta actually sounds really good from what I've seen recently. FYI Spirit also flies to Ft. Lauderdale from Islip. Just be careful, bc even though it may look like a good deal, they charge extra for everything - extra for baggage, extra for a window seat...

$250 sounds like a good fare for Easter/Spring Break week. I was pricin out airfares for my mother for the end of April (afte spring break) and it's in the $210 ballpark to come up here from tampa.

wow...I just paid $520 for easter on Jet Blue....I thought I got a good deal
I am going friday to monday- JFK to PBI
I saw cheaper on American express travel- but I didn't want to have to stop- Jet blue was the only direct flight I could find

YIKES! can you cancel? we got direct from laguardia to fort lauderale for $219.00 (including all taxes) and we are leaving the day before Easter and coming back the following Wednesday. i think because we were able to leave during the week help. i couldn't find a cheap direct flight to PBI, so we went with FLL which is also close.
