off the pill

I've just gone off the pill after taking it for 20 years.. any tips on what i can expect this first month?

i'm having visions of horrible cramps and random spotting

i was on the pill for 13 years. When I first got off I never had any spotting or horrible cramping but it did take 45 days to get my first period and then each month it would get shorter until I was back on a regular schedule.

I am off the pill for 3 months after like 15-20 years and it has been quite a wild ride. My first 2 cycles were 28 days and 29 days, then the 3rd was a whopping 36 days. I have noticed that my first day is soooo heavy- like I am 16 again. I used an OPK and for me, I never got a +, so this month I went to the dr and had some bloodwork done to see if I am ovulating. You may want to try an OPK to see if and when you are ovulating. Good luck

i went off the pill in November and didnt get my period for 65 days, so the dr gave me something to kick start it, so now i'm waiting to see if im regular or not... its a pain!!

I went off the pill after being on it for 16 years. Honestly, I was 100% fine and never felt better when I went off.

I got AF right on schedule, the cramping was a little more then usual, but nothing major.

I think everyone is different

i was on the pill for about 12 years -- and once i got off of it my cycles were alllll over the place. my cramps were a little worse than before and my mood swings were out of control.

i was on the pill for 12 years or so and i guess was one of the lucky ones... my cycle came back at a normal rate within a month and i began ovulating the following month.

I was on the pill for ovarian cyst reasons and was PETRIFIED that the pain would return. It didn't return as bad as it was back then (my periods were horriffic, i was on many levels of painkillers)...

Everyone is different though - a close friend was on the pill for the same amount of time as me and didn't ovulate for 8 months...

i guess basically, prepare for the un-expected...

My cycles came back pretty regular which was good....but around AF time I broke out like a 14 year old girl! lol over time it has stopped but at first I couldn't believe it! Cramps are a little worse but that's about it.

Ah, the waiting game can't wait to see what horrors my body decides to throw at me.
thought i had finally reached a point where AF wouldn't be torturous anymore. we'll see!

I stopped taking it last month and this past Monday was 28 days for me....here I am at 31 and still no AF.
