1st Time on Metformin--side affects?

Quick question, I was just put on Metformin and was curious as to whether anyone else experienced fatigue while on it. I can't tell if I'm just getting sick--or if its the pill. I'm on 500mg to start and eventually will be increasing my dose over the next 2 wks to 2000mg. I'm feeling very "off" today.

Im on 2000mg metformin er daily. It does take a toll on ur tummy especially if u eat something starchy. Youll be in and out of the bathroom quite a few times during the day.
You will start to notice what foods bother u more than others.. sometimes all foods bother me.
i heard the extended release is much more gentle on ur tummy than the reg metformin - i couldnt compare bc ive always been on the ER.
I dont feel any more tired than normal since i started taken it in september.

Yeah I'm definitely waiting for the tummy issues. My doc told me that they wanted to just start me on the regular doses and then see how I am with my stomach and then possibly switched to the extended release ones.

So maybe I'm just catching a cold and feeling tired. So later I'll be tired and dying in the bathroom.

no just major stomach issues if i had too many carbs or sugar. i learned to adjust to it after a while and just totally avoided what caused the issues.

I've been on it for a little over 2 weeks now and am currently on 1000 mg of the extended release....
I don't have major stomach issues but I'm on weight watchers right now too and have been seriously watching my simple sugar/white flour carb intake.. I've been going more, but not sure if it's from the metformin or from eating so much more fiber now that I'm on WW.
