which would you choose in the bahamas?

OK so I've been giving the whole $ deals a lot of thought and figured I might as well aim high. Would you choose Atlantis or the all inclusive Riu? I would never spend the hotel money on Atlantis, but I know we we still spend a lot there because everything is very $$$$. If we did the Riu, our food and drinks would be included and we could always walk over to Atlantis. Which would you choose?

It's the 4 star all-inclusive included one on the bottom. Here's the description...
"Undercover hotel" opened on December 18, 2004 and is located on the picturesque Paradise Beach, just two miles from Nassau, Bahamas and is within walking distance to the casino at Atlantis. The hotel is located directly on the beach.

I think I have too much time on my hands. Now I'm starting to look into Aruba and Riviera Maya! Someone just pick on for me!

If it comes up in a regular search does that guarantee it will come up with dollar deals? Because a 5 star all inclusive came up and I figured even if we went out for dinner a couple of times it would still be a steal. But I don't want to waste my time if you don't think it's available. Plus the airfare is a lot more than the Bahamas.

We stayed at the Radisson Cable Beach on our Honeymoon ( not too far from Atlantis or any of the other resorts...) and we LOVED IT. Highly reccomend! They have the best beach on that strip ( aside from Sandals)

I stayed at the Riu in the Bahamas when I went. It was beautiful and literally right next door to Atlantis. We spent our days by the Riu pool and beach (which is shared by Atlantis) and at night we would walk over to Atlantis for some nightlife. I liked that my food and alcohol was included.

If I remember correctly, you can pay for a day pass at Atlantis if you wanted to just spend the day on their pool grounds.

I LOVED the Atlantis. The grounds are immaculate, the resturants are great, and the beaches are sparkling blue.

I would pick the RIU. I haven't stayed there but when we did stay on PI, we checked it out and we plan to stay there in the future.

I would pick the Atlantis. The pool and beach are amazing. The water park is so much fun. The food is great. DH and I went there last year for our first anniversary and we loved it. We would definitely go back again.

We stayed at the Atlantis last year and it was nice but not worth the $$. Everything was very expensive. The food was nothing great, although it was beautiful the grounds of the hotel and the pools and the aquariums. You really can't enjoy the beach you have all these(local) people bothering you. But that is probably just the island. If we would go again we would try someplace else. My opinion was not worth what we paid for it.

My IL's stayed at the Riu and hated it.

the atlantis is full of kids! some people don't mind that...but if you want more of a couples resort check out the sandals...i heard it's great (i have only been to sandals in jamaica andi loved it!)

A couple of my friends went to Atlantis a few years ago and while it was really nice they both said the service was atrocious and that tips were added to every check - so bad they wouldn't go back.
