Lovenox
What can be done to stop the bruising??? I try to compress the shot site after but it doesn't always work.
I have huge bruises and I'm running out of spots to stick myself. Is it ok to inject the lovenox into a bruise or do I have to find a clear spot????

Re: Lovenox
hey i was just about to fm you. as for the lovenox, DO NOT compress the site after it. the more you massage it, the worse the bruise!!!
Try that!!! it has worked for me!

I had some really bad bruising the first few weeks on it. One time I got this huge, purple and black bruise - it scared me and I called my hematologist in a panic! The technique I found to work the best is to pinch the area of fat you are going to inject into - do your injection, then keep holding the pinch while applying pressure (DO NOT RUB IT!!) for about a minute or so. Once I started doing this I got barely any bruising at all. Don't inject over an existing bruise - that will give you an even worse bruise. Also switch sides each day to give your tummy a break. I injected into the belly my entire pregnancy. As I got bigger, I had to inject more on the side where I could grab some fat. I am still taking it now... that reminds me - I have to make an appointment with the hematologist!
If you have any questions bout lovenox, feel free to FM me!

Re: Lovenox
I agree with Lauren, "pinching" the fat also worked for me too.

Re: Lovenox
I give myself a shot on my right side and in the morning and on the left at night. I also have bruises pretty bad. For some reason I go through spurts. I'll have bad bruising then I'll go a little while with out bruising. I do as the PP said. I squeeze an area of fat then I inject not directly into the squeezed area but into the soft spot at the end.(Does that make sense?) I also find(it took me 6 months to realize) if you do it fast it doesn't hurt as much and I don't bruise as much. I was doing it slow and that's when I realized it was killing me!!
ETA**If you look at some of my pics in my album you see my bruises. It stinks!!
