Klein/Nimaroff question...

I am not currently preg but we have been TTC #2 and have been seeing Dr Klein in his new office since October...

The last time I was there I overheard Klein arranging for one of his preg patients to go to the sono lab at North Shore for a test... My previous high risk practice (at NYU) handled all sonos, growth scans, stress tests - in house - as one would expect from a well run high-risk practice. I spoke to someone in the office today and she said they are no longer handling those things in the new office b/c they don't have a radiologist on staff and they may eventually just not now. I am very upset b/c although I truly liked Dr Klein I need a FULL-SERVICE high risk practice. I know that the practice he came from (Rifkin, Sadaty & Kaufman) offer this but I went with Klein b/c I thought he was one of the best dr's from the group... Whether I see Nimaroff or Klein the situation is the same - no radiologist which means all they will do is basic stuff and send you out for other stuff...

I am so confused! I saw Dr Rifkin once and he was okay but felt he was indecisive about medical issues...

Any suggestions welcome! I am located in the south shore and travel to Klein at North Shore b/c of the high risk factor...

Thanks!

I saw all those Dr's when they were in one group at great neck ob/gyn. I personally LOVE Dr. Rifkin. He delivered my twins and is truly my hero. He takes the time to listen and discuss every issue with me and never rushes me. Even though the office is a real hike for me, I will never see another ob/gyn.

I am a patient of Dr. Nimaroff but I am not high risk. I was sent to NSUH for my level 2 sonogram but I had a regular sono in the office done by Dr. Nimaroff. I don't think they have a sonographer on staff so that could be a problem for you.

Thanks ladies!

I found out after my post that Dr Gross the radiologist at Rifkin/Sadaty/Kaufman doesn't take my insurance (Aetna). This was a recent change as of Jan 1 - and I would have to go to the mat fetal med sono lab at NSUH.

I will have to do what I have to do it is just hard b/c now ds is in the picture and it may mean dragging him with me to some of my appts. When I became high risk I had to have weekly stress tests and fetal growth scans to closely monitor size and any potential issues...

I use Rifkin, Kaufman and Sadaty and I LOVE them. I just had my baby and I had all of my sonos done in the office. That is very disappointing that Dr. Gross no long takes Aetna because that is what I have. I guess for the next baby I will have to have them done at the hospital. This is not a reason for me to switch practices because I LOVE Dr. Rifkin and Kaufman!!!!!!!

Thank you! It is good to hear that you were so happy with them you would go back even if you had to travel elsewhere for sonos...

I am so overwhelmed by this choice...thank you for all your words of wisdom ladies!

Re: Klein/Nimaroff question...

I go to Klein and Nimaroff too and I love them both. I went to the old practice with my last pg and I did like the convienence of the sonos, but the hospital is so close to the office and they do have valet parking so it hasn't been bad. I don't know how often you will have to go, I have to go for growth sonos once a month because I'm having twins.
