prenatals
So my dr told me that it was ok to take a multi vitamin every day instead of prenatals....but after speaking w/ a bunch of other people and Dr. friends they said that prenatals are the way to go...especially if you aren't on birth control and there is always a possibility of being pregnant...so that being said my neighbor had a bunch of extra packs of prescription prenatals (she just had a baby) and gave them to me...is that bad to take? Also, i hear that they could hurt my stomach...and give me constipation...any thoughts to prevent this?

Re: prenatals
its probably safe to take..i know they're prescriptions, but theyr'e vitamins..not medicine or anti depressants, etc.
I use Rainbow Light from target..i havent had any problems with my tummy yet. although this brand says its easy to digest which is what sold me b/c i already have a sensitive tummy. I was taking a multivitamin course from Shaklee..but i just switched to prenatals.
some pple get the runs, some pple get constipated. it can go either way i guess.

Re: prenatals
I guess I'll give these a try and then look into the target brand. I have a sensitive tummy too! No need to upset it!

Re: prenatals
i have heard constipation can come from some prenatals...and let me tell you i HOPED for it (i have ibs-d).
target prenatals are what i took and still do...they did NOT bother my stomach at all and i have a horrible history with vitamins (they ALL always made me terribly naseaus).
best bet - take them at night with dinner.

You know i posted about being naseous...maybe it is from the multi vitamins and the omega 3 vitamins...I have ibs-c and don't need more trouble...maybe i'll just get the target ones...is that what they are called at the store? just target brand prenatals? probably worth the money!!

I can tell you from my history (duodoneal ulcers and ibs) - i have never had an issue from the Target ones. A close friend of mine, a nurse WITH ibs-c is the one who gave them to me when we decided to TTC...because they were the only ones that didn't bother her either (and even after 2 kids, she still takes them).
They are in a pink and white bottle and just say Target Prenatals.

I bought the rainbow light at target..im not sure if that is their brand.
Omega 3 caps (fish oil yes?) were god awful on my tummy. i was tasting fish sticks all day after swallowing those. So that could be whats upsetting you...yick!!

oooooooooooo - nice! I don't know - i haven't bought them in a bit. I get the largest bottle they have...so mine is probably a month or 2 old...
Take them with a meal though - that's key (at least for me) - preferably your largest meal of the day...
Good luck!
