is the wii fit worth it?

just got the wii yesterday. not sure how i'm feeling about it but wondering if the wii fit is worth it. what does it do exactely?

It's great. You can do yoga and some cardio and strength training. Our whole family plays it. And it really gives you a workout. Maybe not the workout a trainer would give you, but definitely more than any other game.

I posted about this on Fitness, but I do love the WiiFit..time goes quickly when working out and that's a plus for me..I also got My Fitness Coach, but am not sure about that one yet..it's still in the plastic haha

i really like it. I'm currently pregnant and really can't do major gym workouts (i don't go to the gym anyway)...but as it's cold - i also can't walk outside because it's freezing...but i can work out at home (they have running programs, step programs, etc)...

definitely worth it for me!

I like it a lot because there are a variety of workouts to do, they get more difficult as you go along, it's entertaining, and you never have to leave the house!

so does it come with all that stuff or do i have to buy different programs for it? do i have to buy that bag with the mat and stuff?

we just got it for christmas... i would say its worth it! it comes with the Wii Fit game that is the main thing you do on there... you don't need a carry bag or any of that.
basically, the Wii Fit program that it comes with takes your body information the first time you get one ( weighs you, takes your height, calcualates your body mass index, checks your balance).
THEN theres a series of "training" games you can do. theres yoga poses ( and it measures how well balanced you are), theres aerobic games ( a hula hoop, running in place, step aerobics, a rythm boxing), therse balance games which help work on your balance ( ski jump, ski slalom, tight rope walk) and then there are strength training games, too.
as you get better, you "unlock" new games, or different levels of a certain game. For example i unlocked "super hula hoop" after i got a certain score on the "regular" hula hoop. so it definitely leaves room for a more challenging workout if you want one... you work up to it.
the games are very motivating because it gives you a ranking, and lists the top 10 scores on each game... LOL so DH and i have competitions going for better rankings!
its great to just get you off the couch and gives you a fun way to work out without having to leave the house...

All you need is the one box with the wiifit in it, it comes with the CD needed to use it. I love mine. I feel it is a good workout, and a really cheap gym membership

I enjoy using the Wii Fit, at first my husband and I were skeptical of how much of a real workout you can get from it, but it I like that I can do basic aerobics from home instead of at the gym where I am very self-conscious of looking silly!

I really like it. It is a lot of fun and when I can't make it to the gym I do the Wii fit and don't feel too guilty for not making it to the gym. I really like the hula hoop game on the wii fit.

we LOVE our Fit!! So much fun, from the yoga, to the cardio and balance games...it's great and you get such a workout with some of them!

Oh we love it. I just started using it this past week and I love the running and especially the hula hoops boy that give the tummy a workout.

ETA: I just got the Jillian (from the Biggest Loser) workout game that goes with the Wii Fit but didn't try it yet. From what I saw it looks good. I will let you know how that is.
