Question about EWCM
Hello Ladies,
So, charting EWCM is a fairly new thing for me. I understand that you are supposed to have EWCM a day of two before ovulation, but does it make sense that I would have it 9 days total? It seems to be that once it is gone, I get AF about 7 days later.
Any insight you have on this would be appreciated.
Thank you!

Re: Question about EWCM
Are you sure that it's always EWCM?
Usually you will only get it for a few days.
You might be confusing it with leftovers from BD - KWIM?

Re: Question about EWCM
EWCM usually comes a few days before O..some girls even report 5 days before. after O it usually goes away pretty quickly. It is common to see discharge after O through the time before AF shows, but its probably not EWCM.

Re: Question about EWCM
I do know what you mean. I don't think that is what it is, though. A little TMI -- but, although I am tracking EWCM to get a better idea of things, we are still using condoms - at least for the next couple of months.

Re: Question about EWCM
Hmm okay - are you sure it's EWCM and not any other type of CM?
What does it look like? Feel like?

Re: Question about EWCM
OK - so the whole post will become TMI
It is sometimes clear and gloppy (yuck!) and sometimes cloudy and gloppy. But, ALWAYS extremely, extremely stretchy. The strechiness (if that is a word), is what makes me think EWCM. The rest of the month is it cloudy, sticky and lotion-like.

Re: Question about EWCM
You know it's funny you post this. I also had what appeared to be EWCM the week before AF (this past cycle and other cycles as well) but now I know for sure that it is just some other type of CM.

Okay - that does sound like EWCM!
Do you guys start without a condom ever? I'm just trying to think of all options since DH's stuff can look/feel just like EWCM.
What days are you getting EWCM? When do you O? When do you get AF?

Re: Question about EWCM
We don't start off without a condom (really trying to be careful over the next two months).
I am a newbie regarding the correct terms and tracking but I believe I O on day 13 or 14, get AF on day 28 or 29 (I'm pretty regular) and have EWCM from day 13 or 14 through day 21 or 22.

Re: Question about EWCM
Just googled it and found this online:
MEMBER QUESTION: I noticed that I have some egg white cervical mucus around 7 or 8 DPO. Is this a sign that I have low progesterone?
DR. AMOS: EWCM comes from an estrogen increase. That usually happens several days prior to ovulation. But it also happens about a week after ovulation. So seeing EWCM again at that time is not unusual.

Re: Question about EWCM
Agreed. And maybe the abundance of EWCM will work in our favor
