Re: glucose test
this is for your one hour??
eat normally - but try to avoid sugary foods.
this is something you either have or you don't and eating or not eating specific things won't affect it overall...

Re: glucose test
yes- this is for the one hour. i'm not going until about 6:30pm so i want to make sure that whatever i eat during the day won't affect the test.

couldn't have said it better.
I tried to eat really good in the few days prior to the test (both 1hr and 3hr) and honestly, it doesn't make a difference. Its all in the way your body processes the sugars.

nope - as jenn and i said - it won't change anything regardless of what you eat....
if you don't have it - you could have 10 mountain dews before the test and would still pass....(though i wouldn't test this theory ).
my 1 hour wasn't until 2:00 - i just made sure my normal breakfast and a snack later. I didn't eat lunch that day - but my normal lunchtime isn't normally until 1:30 - 2:00 anyways...

Re: glucose test
It doesn't matter what you eat. If you have gestational diabetes it's a hormonal problem and you're not going to eat better for one day and somehow get a good result. If you have GD it will show up and to be honest, as someone who had GD, you want to know if you have it so you can deal with it. For the record, I was told to fast 12 hrs. before my 1 hr. glucose test. Good luck!!

Re: glucose test
Yeah everyone is right..eating doesn't change anything. GD is based on the way the placenta functions.
