I think it depend how oily your hair is. You can use dry shampoo on the roots or baby powder to extend the life of it. I personally don't let it go past 2 days but my hair get oily quickly.

Re: How long can you make a blow-out last?

I can make a blow-out last about 3 days. I have very thick hair that is not oily. I find that the less products I use, the longer it lasts. Also, like the pp said, I use dry shampoo on the roots if it seems to be getting bit oily.

If I am getting a blow out for no reason I tell her and she doesnt put any product in it - then I can make it last about a week!

But if I am getting it done for a wedding or something I want the extra shine so she puts product in it and then I can make it last three days.

My grandma can make it last a week b/c she has very dry hair. I am lucky if I get a couple of hours - I have oily hair.

Sleep with a silk pillow case to prevent getting it really messy, shower with a shower cap and make sure the water isn't too hot so you won't sweat.

1 day tops! I have to wash my hair everyday at the least. My hair tends to be oily and I have to wash it. I feel way too gross otherwise.

Same here. Also, I have VERY thick hair that is pretty long (past my bra strap) so it takes forever to dry/straighten etc. There's absolutely no way I could do it everyday or even every other day.

ITA! Obviously if you have oily hair, none of these tips will matter, but otherwise, make sure it doesn't get wet, try not to sweat it out, if you do, use some dry shampoo spray and blow out the front or roots very quickly. The less product you use, the longer it will last.

Re: How long can you make a blow-out last?

The next day! I don't have oily hair, I just don't feel "clean" overall if I don't wash my hair.

My BF uses the Oscar Blandi stuff and LOVES it.

It's a powder that you apply to your roots and distribute through your hair. It absorbs the oil.

Re: How long can you make a blow-out last?

My issue isn't so much the oil- it's that it goes completely flat when I sleep on it.
But I have VERY fine hair... it doesn't have much style support at all.

LOL When I was and straighten my hair myself it does get oily by day three but when she washes it and straightens it with no product it really doesnt get oily! Maybe bc she REALLY shampoos my hair twice before anything.

Also, I stopped using conditioner - best thing I ever did!!!!!
