San Francisco vs. cruise
We can't decide between the 2. If you've done both, which would you prefer. If you like cruising better, what destinations do you suggest?

Re: San Francisco vs. cruise
you can take a nice cruise from San Fran!!
My DH and I sort of did that last year...but we left from San Diego and cruised to MExico for a week then stayed in San Diego for a week after the cruise.

Re: San Francisco vs. cruise
I went on one cruise and that was out of new york to canada....it was fun b/c we had our whole family there but what a blahh location. therefore, im not help on cruises.
I have been to San Francisco and loved it!!!! there is sooo much to do... you can take a boat ride by alcatraz...or a bus ride that goes to the wineries in napa valley. It's really beautiful there adn sooo much to do. I highly recommend it!

i never thought of that! We could visit San Fran and then go on a cruise. Any suggestions on destination ports when you leave from San Fran?

Re: San Francisco vs. cruise
This was exactly our dilemma in 2008. We chose to go to San Francisco in June and loved every minute of it! Know that SF is not a place for warmth and sunshine, tho we had beautiful days in Napa and Suasalito. And there is little time to relax, we were busy trying to see and do everything. Unlike a cruise where sun and relaxation are the basics! The plan is for a cruise this year.
