M/S help needed: what drinks can you tolerate?

ugh.

i feel almost guilty complaining because my morning sickness is EONS better than it was last pregnancy.

eating is not so bad at all... but drinking is VERY hard. for some reason i have an aversion to drinking just about anything, and after i drink i get extremely nauseous.

i've basically been forcing myself to drink anything that i possibly can (including such healthy options as hawaiian punch and kool-aid Chat Icon ), but nothing goes down well.

suggestions?

I was lucky because I didn't really have m/s, however, I did have some days early on where I felt nauseous. Ginger ale and sprite helped.

I have the same thing. I hate drinking anything. It makes the m/s worse.

Shockingly, chocolate milk is my go to drink. That and Hansen's natural ginger ale.

Oddly enough all I wanted was cream soda...it was sweet but didn't have caffeine and I was guzzling it every day.

Even tho there is caffeine, coke always helped, I would sip the same can all day.

Ditto AND it helps with my migraines.

Ginger Ale is good and skim milk, too.

If I feel like that, I drink ginger ale that is a bit flat and diluted gatorade. I know the feeling well. Chat Icon

As bad as it is all I could drink was coke and when it was really bad diet coke helped even more.

I am not a soda drinker at all but I was strictly on the soda only diet for about 6 weeks :)

Lemonade helped me a lot in the first trimester. The sour taste helped combat the morning sickness. Chat Icon

Re: M/S help needed: what drinks can you tolerate?

Coke helps me the most. Sometimes water with a little lemon in it helps, but other times the thought of it makes me sick.

Also, seltzer with lemon/lime (poured into a glass, not out of the can).

But as a lot of other ladies said, coke is what helps the most. Usually its the only thing I can drink.

When I had bad MS with DD I found that if I mixed in a little juice (changed flavors with my mood) with a bunch of water it went down well. I used like 5-10% juice - about 90% water - just enough to flavor it - I also found that cold drinks (putting lot of ice in) helped as well. Cream soda (decafe brand), ginger ale, Sprite (which I normally HATE), and if I was really bad - I would sip at like 1/2 a can (over a long period of time) some coke (classic only it has something in the syrup that helps to settle your stomach). But I try to avoid caffeine with DD and this pregnancy - so I only did that when it was REALLY necessary.

The only thing that I could really hold down was ginger ale and gatorade (tropical mango flavor)

Pepsi sometimes and other days a glass of apple juice. I am really thirsty some days but the liquid in my stomach makes me sick. I understand. Gatorade works for me too. Something light like the blue or yellow.

I just noticed someone said Chocolate Milk and honestly that works too. I bought the juice box nesquick and I loved it.

I luckily did not have terrible MS but I was constantly nauseous so I practically lived on ginger ale or sprite.

I never really had m/s but I would wake up nasueous. I would leave a can of sprite on my night table and sip it right away as soon as I opened my eyes. That with a cracker and I was good to go.

Re: M/S help needed: what drinks can you tolerate?

Strangely enough for me it was fruit juice diluted with water. I never drink any sugary type of drink, so the fact that the only thing that helped ease my nausea a little bit was fruit juice or lemonade

Not for me, but my friend swears by Ginger Beer (its not really beer) but any drink with Ginger in it helps. Even some regular tea with some slices of fresh ginger in it might help.
