Restaurant recommendations in Hawaii?
My bro and SIL live on Oahu in Hawaii. They have only lived there a few months- and because my bro is deployed 9 months out of the year (he's in the Navy)- they don't get much together time.
I wanted to get them a gift card to a restaurant for Christmas- but since I have never been there, I'm at a total loss.
Can anyone recommend a place?
Bro also wants to take surfing lessons, but I could not find any places that weren't $$$$- so if anyone has a recommendation for that as well, that would be great!

We saw a lot of great restaurants there that are also here... more than on any other Island. They had everything from Ruby Tuesday to Outback Steakhouse! I'd imagine you want to get them a GC someplace pretty nice -- how about Ruth's Chris? They had a beautiful one in Oahu and wow that place is amazing. It is a steakhouse known for their food and great service.

Any of the restaurants at Halekulani are great. House Without a Key is more casual. At night there is a live band. La Mer is very romantic. :D I believe men have to wear jackets at La Mer. Orchids is great too.

Whatever you do, keep in mind that restaurant prices on Oahu are much more expensive than they are here.

My sister & BIL came back from their honeymoon raving about Roy's. It's a chain but they loved it. You can order gift cards on their website but double check they have a location in Oahu.

I second Roy's -- we ate at 2 different ones on Maui & Kauai. If there's one on Oahu, which I would bet there is, I highly recommend it. Great food and awesome drinks too.
