Re: Christmas Dinner
we start out with a salad of fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, tomatos and bazil.
Then we have a baked ravioli with sauce, meatballs and sausage and of course italian bread.
we eat so much the day before that we try and keep it light the next day.

Re: Christmas Dinner
Pomegranate Chipotle Pork Roast
Ingredients 2 1/2 - 3 lb. boneless pork loin roast 8 slices bacon Pomegranate Chipotle Sauce
Directions Place pork loin roast in roasting pan with a rack; remove any strings. Lay bacon slices crosswise over loin, overlapping slightly; tuck ends of bacon underneath loin. Roast pork at 350° until meat thermometer registers 140°, about 1 hour. Brush Pomegranate Chipotle Sauce liberally over bacon; continue to roast pork until thermometer registers 150°, about 10 minutes more. Remove from oven and let stand in pan 5 minutes. Slice and serve pork with additional warmed Pomegranate Chipotle Sauce. Makes 4-5 servings.
My mom is making her homemade stuffing. I'll do some roasted vegetables, crescent rolls.....

Re: Christmas Dinner
This year we are having turkey dinner. We had thanksgiving with my IL's this year so we missed out on turkey dinner (they don't do a traditional thanksgiving dinner)
Last year we had filet mignon and a fresh ham.

Re: Christmas Dinner
I was "volunteered" to do Christmas Day this year. My mom is going to bring the antipasto and my cousin will be bringing the deserts. I will start with Spiniach Raviolis with a paresean sauce (from Costco) since certain relatives doing like red sauce Then we'll have a rib roast, roast beef of filet mignon (havent decided yet) with asparagus and smashed red potatos.

Re: Christmas Dinner
I'm cooking for the immediate family... this year our family missed a proper turkey-day dinner... but normally for christmas I cook: duck a l'orange pear salad with candied pecans, herbal mesculin mix, and a balsamic maple dressing purple potatoes tossed in shallots and butter
but, this time it will be turkey and gravy stuffing (from scratch with fried celery, onion, and mushrooms) green beans sauteed with bacon and shallots

This sounds great! Have you used this recipe in the past or something you are trying? I am making a roast pork and might try this if it's good.

Re: Christmas Dinner
Well my mom has Christmas...
We start with antipato...a lot of different types of cheeses, salami, soppresatta, prosuitto, etc. Brooklyn bread!
My close family friends bring homemade empanadas
Big salad
Pata course...sometimes lasanga, sometimes manicotti...
Filet mignon, ham..and a bunch of sides
Dessert...Italian pastries from Brooklyn from my aunt ... cakes, pies....
