how long before going to the doctor
I came of birth control the end of october and have not gotten my period since. it has been over 40 days.
I know i am not pregnant - how long should i wait before seeing the doctor to get my period
btw i am getting impatient and want to start trying

i would, in the very least, CALL the doctor - explain what's going on and see what he/she has to say. He/she may tell you that it's fine, or you may be asked to come in so they can make sure that you ARE okay...
it's very common for your cycle not to regulate itself for awhile after coming off of the pill - as each TYPE of pill is different...

it can take 6 months to a year. mine didnt come for over 6 months & dr. gave me provera to bring it on. i would say if you dont get it within 5 months from the pill call see your dr. my dr. told me it was normal & most dont get it till 3-6 months after some even longer.
(fyi: it was a normal period, i was expected the worst bc it was so long but it wasnt bad)

I would call. I might do the same. I have been off BCP for 6 1/2 weeks and got AF for 1 1/2 very very light days. I also tested many many times and know that I am not pregnant. I am gonna wait till the next month to call the dr.

I went off BCP in August. Got AF after 32/33 days the first two months. This month I was on CD40 with no ovulation detected. I made an appt with the dr. She wasnt concerned about this cycle bc I hadnt been of BCP long, but she did give me progesterone to induce AF. I stopped the pills Saturday so I should get it within 2 weeks.

How long were your cycles prior to being on the pill?
BCP could be messing you up.
Calling your OB is a good idea so you have your answers.
