need help- Im going nutso at night
For the past few weeks like everyother night or so Bryan has woke up at 10 30 and been up to 2 30 am crying and screaming. When we try to get him to go back down I try everything, feeding, changing, burping, singing, rocking, gas drops even tylenol because I though it was his teeth and nothing works at around 230 he eventually sleeps till about 930 but Im at the end of my rope I cant stay up until 230 and Dh is a Zombie at work because he gets up at 6 and is not getting any sleep. I need advice. He is still in our room and mostly un our bed although he starts the night off in the co-sleeper. He has always slept really well (with the exception of hating his crib) until now- CIO doesnt work well for us because Bryan Screams so loud that the downstairs neighbors wake up and sometimes he crys so hard that he vomits and he never settles down. I dont know if this is on account of teething or what- he 2 bottom teeth are already in

I'm sorry you're having a tough time...
I am going to agree with mommy2bella in that I think you should try the crib more... maybe just for naps right now and start SLOWLY... prolonging it may only make it worse!
I never did CIO, it's not for me... but there are so many modified methods out there now... it may take A LOT of work, but it will be best in the end!
Good luck!

How is he napping during the day? They do say that sleep "begets sleep"... we had the same problem for weeks and weeks and weeks, and I just couldn't handle it anymore so I employed (succesfully) the CIO method. Or, should I say, my hubby did... maybe you can try a modified version of CIO? There are a lot of books out there on the topic... I'd also make an appointment with your pediatrician to rule out any infections/illness first.

Thanks everyone- he doesnt really seem sick but who knows I have an appt on sat so I will ask. Im going to give Cio another try-- how long should you let go before going in--- the last time I tried he cried AT A 10 level for 3 hours when I finally went in there was vomit all over the crib and he was hysterical for a while- plus neither me or DH were getting any much sleep and we were stressed to the max.

Re: need help- Im going nutso at night
Graduated CIO works like this. You put them down in a drowsy state and rub their belly, kiss them, tell them you love them; and if you use one, you give them their pacifier.
After you leave the room, you mark the time. You wait, say 7 minutes, go back in and rub their belly, etc Then you wait 12 minutes and repeat adding a few minutes each time.
After a while, they usually go to sleep...
Good Luck!!!
