Re: ttc'er w question to twin mommies
Hi I am not having twins but the "twin gene" is really just overovulation. If your mom's cousins are twins, is she related by blood to the twins' mother or to the twins' father?

Re: ttc'er w question to twin mommies
EX:
Grandma and her sister are twins. Grandma has one boy (my dad) and one girl. In this stage, only the baby girl can be prone to have twins since she is the only one that ovulates. My dad does carry the overovulation trait but it will skip this generation since dad doesn't ovulate. My dad and mom have one boy and one girl (me). My dad has passed the overovulation trait on to me since I am a female and I ovulate. This does not effect my brother's chances of having twins since he doesn't ovulate, but will increase the chance that he passes it down to his daughters. Make sense?
Edited for spelling

Aren't you having identical twins? Only fraternal twins are hereditary. Also, your DH's side of the family has nothing to do with your chances of having twins.

To be fair she didn't say that they were inherited, just stated her family history. I hope this doesn't start a war...

Seriously? I was simply pointing out facts that not everyone knows about twins. I'm not sure where you're seeing any type of drama.

I wasn't seeing drama and I think everyone can agree that it's difficult to tell someone's tone of voice online. I just hoped that 2peasmypod didn't get offended and I didn't want anyone to start fighting. That's all.
