Just wondering...

What are the misleading effects of an OPK if you are pregnant or have other medical issues?

TIA!

Re: Just wondering...

Sorry...I'll try again. When you buy an OPK, it says certain medical conditions and medications may or may not affect the reliability of this test for predicting ovulation. These can include pregnancy, men. symptoms, breast feeding, BC, some fertility medications, and PCOS. It's in small print under limits of the test.

I was just wondering what results you would get if any of the above played a factor in TTC. Would you get lines/smiley, mixed results, or nothing?

Thanks again!

Re: Just wondering...

I'm not sure I understand your question about being pregnant and OPKs, as if you're pregnant, OPKs are a moot point.

However, if you have something like PCOS, there is a chance of OPKs not working for you. Some women with PCOS have a high level of LH would could give false positives on the OPK. (This was my case).

That's a really good question. I truly don't know. I guess I was lucky that my positives were always accurate.

I'm sure someone with PCOS can chime in and let you know their experiences!
