Avoiding black & blues?
Is there a trick to avoid black & blues at the injection spot?
I ask bc yesterday's injection went very smoothly. No mark at all. This morning, I got some blood when I pulled the needle out & I just noticed it is all back & blue.
What are your tricks ladies?

Put some pressure on the spot for a minute or two and that should help it stop from bruising

Make sure you spread out the skin before you inject. It helps. DH always forgot to do this and he always gave me bruises.

we only did this with the IM shots. The nurse told us for the Sub-Q shots to pinch the skin.
If you get blood, then do what Beth recommended and put pressure for a couple of minutes on it with a gauze pad. I had alot of bruising with my 2nd IVF cycle, but I think that's because I did them both so close together that my skin was super sensitive.

I am still on Sub-Q & I think I figured out what I did. yesterday I let go of my skin before pulling the needle out & I have no mark. Today, I was half a sleep & left it pinched & pulled it out...Blood came out!

Yup! You have to let go of the skin after you inject.

Opps, I'm sorry. I have to do all my shots IM so I wasn't thinking.
