I posted yesterday about my situation in regard to paying for my friends shower as per her sister and that she asked me for 335 which I thought was ridiculous and most of you did as well. Just wondering, if I give in 150 towards the party is that considered my gift?

Re: Bridesmaids
You don't have to give a gift along with the other BM - you can always go out on your own. My best friend's wedding - only a couple of BM's put in together - the rest of us did our own things because there was something specific I wanted to get her.
At my shower - one of my BM went out on her own.

Re: Bridesmaids
If no one consulted you on a gift, I would just go ahead and get one on your own.

Re: Bridesmaids
Unfortunatly since that money is for the party itself you should probably still purchase a gift.

Re: Bridesmaids
ugggghh...so I have to go back up to 300 again? I assume my gift after I put in 150 should be 150. So let me ask this...If you were in my position and gave that 335, you would still give an additional gift for 100 plus? YIKES...I didnt think this was as expensive as its getting to be. p.s.( I am talking about the shower only)

Re: Bridesmaids
Put in what you could afford. I'm sure your friend who is getting married will understand. I had a friend who backed out of my wedding party because she couldn't afford everything and was upset about how much the shower cost....however I found out after the fact that those were her reasons and I felt terrible because I would of told her not to worry about it and that it was more important for her to be a part of it then not to.
Do what you can and good luck
