DH - Alcohol
So DH likes wine, he is known to drink 3-4 glasses in one sitting, if we're out to dinner or with friends. I am of the belief that alcohol does effect sperm quality. I've said it before to him, but he doesn't beleive it esp. when his urology dr. said it has minimal effect (I was mad at that). Now we are also dealing with mild MF (he has vericeles), but I feel like anything and everything can help. Has anyone asked their DH not to drink? How do I do it w/o making him feel bad when it already bothers him that its partly a MF?
TIA

Re: DH - Alcohol
Honestly- I don't think it's a big deal if it is only occasionally and not an everyday thing.
Maybe you can just ask him to cut down around the time of your treatments...

Re: DH - Alcohol
Occasionally its not a big deal, its when its on a regular basis.
Now caffeine is a whole 'nother story...

Re: DH - Alcohol
I made my DH stop smoking before we started TTC. As for drinking, I doubt it will have a significant impact. The varicocele probably is much more of a factor in your MF IF issues.

Re: DH - Alcohol
Sorry to crash.....
Before we started to TTC both DH and I did research on what we should avoid eliminate.
DH actually found quite a few medical studies that found that alcohol affects sperm quantity, quality and motility..... HE made the decision to cut out alcohol and caffeince completely a month before TTC.... I know its not for everyone.
I could try and find the articles again if you would like
