Re: Green Tea?
There's something in green tea that could interfere with your body's absorption of folic acid and then there's the caffeine thing. So I've heard it's best to drink decaf and to make sure you take your prenatals outside of a 12 hour window of drinking the tea (either before or after) HTH!

Re: Green Tea?
THere is an enzyme in green tea that blocks the absorption of folic acid in the body which is critical in the first 12 weeks of fetal development. Folic Acid is what helps to prevent neural tube defects such as spina bifida.
You can always ask you practitioner how they feel about it.

Re: Green Tea?
Yeah... this is the one thing I have given up
I love Green tea and drink easily a few glasses a day. But since I recently learned it blocks folic acid, I let it go....I miss it.
