My first steps...
I've been on the TTC board for a while now... and after a discussion with my Dr. it is agreed upon that see an IF specialist.
While I am excited and happy to know that there are more steps for me toward becoming a mommy... I am still saddened that I couldn't do it on my own. At first I felt like a failure - but after many beautiful words of encouragement from the ladies on the TTC board, I realize that this happens more often than not.
So, with that said, I would like to say HELLO to all of you and I hope to get to know you all like I have the other ladies in TTC.
I do have a quick question though... I am scheduled to see Dr. Zapanthis in Plainedge in three weeks. Does anyone go to East Coast Fertility? If so, what's your opinion on the facility? If not, then why?

Re: My first steps...
Welcome to the if boards. Sorry u had to come here I hope ur stay here is short and u get ur BFP very soon! The ladies here are wonderful. ive been dealing with if for a year and have recently found this board. I wish i found it sooner!!
I dont know Dr Zapanthis . I went to east coast fertiltiy for a consult with Dr Pena in the patchogue office. I felt uncomfortable with him. Im not sure of their success rates but the most important thing is you like your dr and dont settle for just 1 opinion. I went for 3 opinions and all 3 of the drs i went to said pretty much the same thing. I see Dr Cain of RSofNY and youll get alot of mixed reviews about them. So far my exp with them has been nothing but great.

Welcome!
I know how much it saddens you to not be able to make a baby without medical intervention, but once you mourn the loss of that dream... you can start to feel better about taking the next steps - whatever those may be.

Re: My first steps...
hello and welcome hope your stay on IF is short!
it can be very scary first and i know what you mean when you say you are disappointed in yourself..I think everyone on this board can sympathize..but then you come to realize that it will happen, it just may take a few more steps!

Re: My first steps...
Welcome, i hope your stay here is a short one.
my advice would be to make a couple of appointments with different clinics. it's always good to get opinions, but you need to feel comfortable with the practice and the dr.
for me, I ended up at LI IVF with dr keningsberg. i have been very happy with them. hope this helps!
Best of luck!

Re: My first steps...
This is a terrific board and you will find a home here. Hopefully only for a short while.
No one ever wants to be here, but since we're all stuck for now, WELCOME.
Good luck.

Re: My first steps...
I am sorry you have to be here, but welcome!! Hope your stay is super short!
Don't know East Coast Fertility, I am also with Dr. Cain at RSofNY Stonybrook.
The best advise I can give you is to feel comfortable with your doctor and their advice. Everyone is different and what I may be comfortable with may not be the right thing for you.
