Ovulation -IUI question

Scheduled for IUI tomorrow. Because of scheduling & other issues I was not able to do a clomid cycle this month (have in the previous 2mths). Instead we are doing a natural IUI cycle. I have been monitoring with OPK at home. This morning got my surge, called and schd. IUI for tomorrow.

Feeling dull ovary pain throughout the day. Now it seems to have subsided. Got home from work tested again....no surge.

Does that mean I ovulated already? If so, that means I would have O'd sometime during the day or early evening. Should I keep the appt? Do you think the timing is ok?

Re: Ovulation -IUI question

You should be fine...the sperm should meet the egg in the fallopian tube...

Re: Ovulation -IUI question

i would call ur dr. before u do the iui make sure they do a sono. I had the same thing last month. got a + opk in the morning, tested again that night and got a - opk. I went in the next day and had my iui anyway. I spoke to the nurses they said its sometmes ok. I decided to test a few days later and got + opk for 5 days in a row. Turns out i have elevated LH and opks dont work for me. I have to do seriel monitoring...

Re: Ovulation -IUI question

The ideal timing for IUI is 12 hours either side of ovulation. Best of luck!

the presence of the surge means that you are going to ovualte in 24-36 hours....so the absence of the surge probably meant you were in the process of O'ing. Dont worry your timing sounded right on the money. Good luck Chat Icon
