Progesterone levels UPDATE
I had the ovidrel shot a week ago today and had iui done the following day. Today i went in for a progesterone test and the nurse called up and said it was great. She said it was an 11.. I searched the internet like everyone else does and according to the internet and everyones post that seems pretty low. Im on clomid 100mg cd 3-7. Does this seem low to you? The nurse said this is no way indication of pregnancy... hmmmm
ok after doing alot of research i got the nerve to call the re office. I spoke to the nurse agian and she didnt seem annoyed that i researched p4 levels online (if she was rolling her eyes while talking to me i wouldnt know lol) i explained to her that i read on a medicated cycle p4 should be above 15 and unmedicated 10 is acceptable. she said in the office there anything over 10 is standard.. Medicated or non medicated. I go to RSofNY and i am trusting them with everything else.. why not trust them with this too right? O well i guess ill just have to call this other cycle a bust right? i am upset and confused right now on how many different numbers and standards everyone goes by!!!

Re: Progesterone levels
This is what I read online:
Progesterone (P4) 7 dpo > 15 ng/ml
A progesterone test is done to confirm ovulation. When a follicle releases its egg, it becomes what is called a corpus luteum and produces progesterone. A level over 5 probably indicates some form of ovulation, but most doctors want to see a level over 10 on a natural cycle, and a level over 15 on a medicated cycle. There is no mid-luteal level that predicts pregnancy. Some say the test may be more accurate if done first thing in the morning after fasting.

Re: Progesterone levels
She probably said it was good because it shows you ovulated. At this the egg would just be implanting, or maybe not even yet, so I wouldn't worry about progesterone in term of pregnancy yet. Good luck!

Re: Progesterone levels
Thats what i thought. Im really upset now.. Ugh. should i call them back and tell them i read this on the internet? I know they hate when u say u saw things on the internet. But honestly, I think my p4 is way too low for 100mg clomid. last month it was 9.4 on 50mg and they said it was good too. I would think with clomid increased my p4 would go up too... When i got my bfp in may my p4 was 10.4 at 6 weeks and i was told that was fine too. I mc but was nothing to do with p4- had a blighted ovum. That was a clomid cycle as well.... ***???? I started looking it up too and i find peoples p4 levels are over 15 medicated!

Re: Progesterone levels
During my clomid/iui cycles, my RE's office was happy with anything over 10.
