Frustrated with OPK vs Calendar/Calculator

I'm so frustrated.... I'm on CD15...negative OPK again... I normally have a 29 day cycle... EVERY calendar/calculator says that I should ovulate tomorrow... that today and tomorrow are my highest fertility days... yesterday I swear I had ovulation pain.. We bd yesterday... should I skip tonight or bd tonight and again tomorrow? I don't know what to do...

Thats really only if your DH has known supply issues. It's perfectly fine to BD every day for a typical healthy man.

Re: Frustrated with OPK vs Calendar/Calculator

It could be that you are having a long cycle this month.

Last month my cycle ended up being 38 days. I started testing on cd12 with OPK's and was so frustrated b/c I wasn't getting a +. I stopped testing b/c it was driving me nuts.

I say keep going with the OPK's if you can a stick to BD every other day.

Good luck!

Don't be frustrated! I usually get a positive on CD 19. It will come!

Re: Frustrated with OPK vs Calendar/Calculator

When are you starting using them in your cycle? You could be Oing before you think.

Those calculator are for "average" cycles.

For example, if you have a 28 day cycle you will read that you can O around CD14. You could start the OPK around CD11 to cover all basis.

Re: Frustrated with OPK vs Calendar/Calculator

the digitals are usually pretty accurate. for a 29 day cycle, you could ovulate anywhere from CD14 to CD19 depending on your LP. which means a + anywhere from CD12 to CD18. also, you could have a longer cycle this month which means you wouldn't get a + until later.

you don't need to test twice a day. once between 2-8 pm is fine. i know they are expensive so i wanted to mention that.
i would keep testing, but only in the afternoon/evening. i hope you get a + soon!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Frustrated with OPK vs Calendar/Calculator

I started them on CD10 just to play it safe. I will continue testing I guess until like CD20. I usually test after a 4-5 hour hold anywhere between 3-6pm.

Re: Frustrated with OPK vs Calendar/Calculator

Remember that not all women ovulate every month. It's possible you did not ovulate one month.

Also you test could be negative but you still O.

If it makes you feel any better, I am having the exact same problem. Now on CD 20 and still no + on the OPK. 29 day cycle. Last month was the same thing. My cycles are always on the dot also. I guess next month I will start temping to make sure I am O'ing.

Re: Frustrated with OPK vs Calendar/Calculator

CD17---still negative. Now line is getting lighter too. I have a feeling I already O'd and for some reason it just did not show. Is this possible? I hope that we BD enough. We BD on CD10,12,14,15,16 and 17. Should we still keep going?
