Cost of Lupron?
We still do not know the treatment plan of my Endo just yet, (we will find out on Thursday), but I was looking at the info about Lupron and OMG! It's soooo expensive? I didn't know it cost all that money? If this is the course of my treatment, I don't think I'll be able to do it? We can't afford it. We working to fix our money problems, I can't see us being able to afford it? What am I going to do? I would be on the treatment for 6 months I believe. There's no way we can afford that. I mean NO WAY. Is there any kind of generic form that my insurance would cover? All I can say is WOW! Here I was gearing up for the worse about needed to do it just for 6 months to find that there is no way we have the money right now. What am I going to do?

Re: Cost of Lupron?
I know my insurance didn't want to cover it at first when I took it (for 1 cycle though)... they had to call my dr. and discuss if there was a medical necessity, before they'd cover it - and they did- it took them WEEKS to deal with it though!!! I think I'm the only one who had that long of a wait though, which was ok, b/c my dr. ordered it a month early (lucky me!) Here's hoping yours will as well!!!!
ETA: They gave me leuprolide acetate as well, which is the generic.

Re: Cost of Lupron?
It is weird bc our insurance will not cover any of my IVF drugs with the exception to Lupron. According to my insurance, I am getting Leuprolide Acetate which is the generic...

That's what I'm using - my insurance covers it, so all I'm paying is the copay. Did you check with your insurance to see if they would cover the generic version?

Re: Cost of Lupron?
On my 1st IVF cycle we were self pay and my RE office knew that - You may want to tell the nurses because patients donate back unused meds and they may put them aside for you (I myself donated some meds back to them after my BFP )
