New to this board
Wow what an awesome site. I joined a site twoweekwait.com and its been very helpful as well. Never have enough encourgement though!
heres my story: i was diagnosed with PCOS about a year ago. We tried clomid and got preg first try on 50mg cd 5-9. Miscarried at 9 weeks. Since then my cycles have been very erratic. My LH levels are high thru most of my cycle. I am on cd 6 and finishing up 100mg clomid tomorrow. I was put on metformin 2000mg and diagnosed with hashimotos disease so i am taking synthroid for that.
I see RSNY of smithtown this past month. we did IUI but was unsuccessful. they went according to my opk tests not sonos... HMM not a good start bc my lh are always elevated and opk give false readings. So im a little discourged that a sono wasnt done prior to my iui to confirm i indeed was ovulating.
Today i have a consult with East coast fertility and see what they ahve to say. On friday i have another consult with dr brenner at long island ivf. I hope this works for us..
Anyone have exp with the places i just named. Its getting expensive but i want the best care possible.
Also if i am seeing 1 dr initally why is another dr making the decisions in my care? Im not sure what to make of that... Thanks and sorry this is so long!

What do you mean one doctor is your primary doctor and one is making decisions?? Whoever is your RE should be deciding your protocol.

Hi and welcome!
I just wanted you to know that I see Dr. Brenner at LI IVF and I think he's great. Great office hours and wonderful staff. That's important because during stimming you never see your doctor anyway.
As far as RSNY, you're going to get a lot of mixed reviews on here. Use the search feature at the top of the page to type in "RSofNY" is how most people put it, and you'll see all kinds of stuff.

Who do you see at RSofNY? I am surprised that there was no sono, they are just going off OPK's. They do blood work and a sono every time I walk in the door there.

Same here.....last cycle I had day 3 bloodwork and sono, day 12 sono and bloodwork and then from the results of that sono - they estimated I would O in the next few days and to monitor with OPK

I am a LI IVF success story with Dr. B. I was very happy with him and the entire staff. When I was on Clomid I was always monitored with blood and sono for IUI. Best of luck!

I left RSNY for many reasons, so I understand your frustration.
I am now a patient at LI-IVF and am very happy there. I got PG with them in November of last year and am trying again.

I saw dr Cain for the iui. I initally saw dr stelling but have seen dr cain and another dr there as well.
I had a U/S done on friday 9/12(1 follicle measuring 11.5mm) Got a + opk on sunday 9/14. I called them and told them i got a + opk, they scheduled me to go in for an iui the next morning. (monday) i walked in and asked if i needed to to get a sono bc my lh levels are high and my follie only measured 11.5 only 3 days ago. I was told nope just do the iui. i guess it could have been an oversight for them to do the sono but i requested it and was told it was unnecessary...
After i got af, and got bloodwork and sono done on cd3 of this month, i was told that i would have seriel monitring to see my follies growing.
Ive seen both + and - results for rsofny. I saw dr Pena from east coast fertility today and he agrees with the clomid and iui but unsure why they are giving me synthroid and metformin bc according to my blood results i dont need them... On friday i see Dr Brenner from LI IVF. ive heard nothing but wonderful things about that office.
I know i sound WACKY for trying all these drs out but i have to see who im comfortable with.

You're doing the right thing. You have to find the dr that is right for you! It is a personal decision.
I see dr. K at LI IVF. I am very happy there, they have a great office and staff.

Not even a little wacky...I was a patient at RSNY for a year and hardly ever saw the same Dr. twice.
I went to LI-IVF and saw Kenigsberg, liked him and stayed there. After six months I got second opinions from three other RE offices. They all agreed with my treatment at LI-IVF so I decided to stay there.

I'm a new patient at LI IVF and see Dr. K. I have been very happy and I'm in my 2ww from IVF with them.
I don't think its wacky at all to interview other doctors. Time is critical and you need a doctor that you trust and believe is doing their best to get you pg. Best of luck in your journey.

I also see Dr. K at LI IVF. I went to East Coast first and hated it. Both the doctor I saw and the staff were condascending and made DH and I feel VERY uncomfortable. I love it at LI IVF.
