UPDATE Am I the only A-s-s that cannot use an OPK

So I just tried to use the clear blue monitor to check if I was near O or not and the first one came up with the error message that I had not done it correctly - the book and the first test sign that appears in the window at the start. So I thought maybe I would collect my urine and do it that way as opposed to mid stream...what do you know the same error message

Am I a total moron or what?


Now as its getting late and it probably wouldnt be accurate now after not holding my urine I am not going to take another way.

What am I doing wrong?

UPDATE 9/28 i just took another one and the same error message - so now I am 4 for 4. I left a voice mail for the company and will follow up in the morning. Now I dont know what is going on - should have just ordered some more of my cheap internet OPK's.

Are you using the monitor or the digital OPKs?

Tell me exactly what you are doing, every step, and I can try to figure out what you're doing wrong.

Thanks girls...I am using the CB digitial OPK - the one that is supposed to show a when you are about to ovulate.

Step by step.. remove the packaging, insert the test in the main holder, remove the pink cover - hold tip of the test in urine stream OR dip it into freshly collected urine for 15 secs. Lay flat, wait for result!!!

Of course I was in for 2 so decided to do a third and the same thing happened again. So now I am 3 for 3 with errors!!!!

The thing is when I remove the test from the main holder I have two blue lines on each test but dont think you can read anything into that.

Well it sounds like you are doing everything right!

I would remove the pink cover BEFORE inserting the stick. Then after POAS, lay it flat and in about 20 seconds, it should start blinking. Did yours do that?

What error message did you get?

Also, are you putting the stick in correctly with the two pink arrows facing each other?

If you got JUST the little book error message, that means the test holder is defective.

As BM13 said, you'd have to call and they should send you a coupon for a free box.

I am thinking about calling the company as I have three failed tests to send them....the error message has a picture of what looks like a book and also the normal test picture that you get when you start the test.

So it has the test stick and book symbols?

Were they flashing or did they just stay on the screen?

The first two I got no flashing the the third one the test symbol was flashing and when the other book sign appeared the flashing stopped.

Hmm. Okay, well the flashing symbol means you ejected the test too soon.

The non-flashing means you used too much or too little urine, or that you peed on the stick before it was insterted in the holder (whcih you said you didn't do)

See thats the thing I didnt eject the stick as its still in there!!! maybe I used too little urine with the first two. Ah well I better toddle off and BD just in case
