question re my af and ov

about 10 months ago I stupidly started taking diet pills, the one desinged for women, I only took them for 1 month then stopped. Every since then my af has been all messed up. Now i spot before my af, that never used to happen and last time it was only 18 days apart instead of the usual 28 days and it only lasted 4 days. i have no clue what is wrong i feel fine, i just dont know how to calculate my ov when i am so irregular? can anyone help????

I don't think the one month of those pills would make a difference in your AF for months on end...once you stopped the diet pills, it would have left your system eventually and not cause a problem with your cycle.

Maybe other more knowledged posters could help more.....but I would prob buy an ovulation monitor....and start tracking it that way so you can get an idea of when you O. They also sell the strips that can detect your surge before you O as well but some people don't like them as much (Can be tough to read if you don't do it the same time everyday and hold your pee for a few hours).

I would start right after your period ends with a monitor and go from there. Hopefully the one 18 day cycle was just a fluke and you'll be back on track in no time! Good luck to you!!!

Where are you in your cycle now?

I would go out and buy the Clear Blue Easy Digital OPKs (the smiley face ones).

Start on CD 8 just to be safe. You'll need to hold your urine for 4 hours and then test sometime between 2 and 8 pm (I like to test around 4 or 6 - those have always worked for me).

You will get a smiley face when the OPKs detect a surge in your LH hormone, which means that you'll ovulate anywhere from 24-36 hours later.

They cost about $40 where I live as I just bought one pack - 7 tests included - I dont want to have to buy a new pack but dont want to miss out on my O day by not testing on time either so I think I will start on CD10.
