Those in 3rd trimester - how much weight gained in the 3rd trimester?
I am curious, how much weight did you gain over the weeks of your 3rd trimester.
I am 27 weeks and still have only gained 7 or 7.5 lbs. Just seems so low at this point, yet my belly is getting huge and clearly growing. I think I am losing weight (still not a big appetite) and gaining at the same time, so it's balancing out. So I wonder how much could still come on, it's worrying me a bit.

I have only gained 2 pounds so far in my 3rd trimester. I have been a slow weight gainer though...at almost 35 weeks, I am only up 14 pounds...

Ok...14 sounds ok at 35 weeks though, probably all baby.
I never thought I would want to gain weight but it seems so abnormal to not have gained more by now.
I am eating the most high calorie foods I can when I do. It's odd to actually have fettuccine alfredo whenever I want and not worry about packing on weight. So I am trying to take advantage and also eat the high calorie stuff to make up for what I don't eat.

Since I had 5 lbs I had to regain from the first trimester, my first true gain (3 lbs) was at around 26 weeks, if I recall correctly 
by 29 weeks, it was 6 lbs, 32 weeks it was 11 lbs, and by 37 weeks it was 21 lbs! (my weight has stabilized since then  ).
I totally haven't changed my diet much during that period. maybe I consume an extra 400 calories a day from my 2nd trimester?

The third tri. is definately where I packed on the pounds!! I'm up a total of 27 lbs now (which I'm happy with), but at 28 weeks I think I was only up about 16 lbs. Now it seems I'm gaining 2-4 lbs a week  And I haven't changed my eating habits much at all, if anything I'm eating less becuase there is no room. They say the baby gains 1/2 a pound a week starting in the third tri so that's where a lot of the weight comes from, plus swelling and everything else.

I don't have that much of an appetite...
FYI: the baby will MAKE you eat more.. remember the first trimester? if you didn't eat enough you felt queazy and wierd? yep, it returns. I TOTALLY have to snack as a 'chore'. eat and drink every 3 hours or so during the day. if I don't I crash. I suspect it's the same with everyone, becuase the baby is packing on the pounds during this time. but since your stomach isn't off as it was in the first tri, it's not too difficult to do....

Funny you say that, I felt so sick Sat night. I thought I could not eat, was so nauseous but forced myself b/c I hadn't eaten in 7 hours. When I finally did I felt so much better. So I do hope that the baby does MAKE me eat, b/c it worries me still I don't have an appetite that often.
Thanks for the input everyone! I guess I should not be worried (ob said not to worry of course).

yep, that was the baby saying 'snack time!'
well, now that you know that wierd off feeling, when you feel it even beginning to come on, munch on some portable snack and have some water.
I drink horizon organic chocolate milk boxes or munch on a granola bar, and drink a liter of water. it works every time to satiate Scone until meal time comes around....

I am 30 weeks and have gained 22 lbs so far, I am happy with my weight gain, definitely feel huge since all the weight went straight to my belly! My baby is measuring 3 lbs 10 ounces, I have GD so I was told he is on the bigger side which we suspected. My next weigh in is on Thursday so we will see...but I definitely feel like in the past few weeks I'm growing a lot faster and will be putting on more weight although I'm eating/snacking the same.
