Anxiety over umbilical cord
I have such a fear that something is going to go wrong and one of my babies will suffocate themselves. My moms best friend lost a baby this way. The cord wasn't around the babys neck but she kinked it herself. I think about this day and night and it's only getting worse. If I don't feel movement for a little while I start to freak out.
Am I a freak - do any of you think crazy thoughts like this?

Yes I worried about this the entire time with my DD once I started feeling her move.

i worried about that a lot too but keep in mind that if you don't feel movement for a while your Dr. can do a sono and they will be able to see the blood flow thru the umbilical cord, and where it is by the baby(s).

Girl I have 3 weeks left and all I think about is please don't let him get tangled in there. I worried my entire pregnancy with my DD as well

You are not alone... I think all mommies think this..
I was in labor with contractions and still I asked "is she ok, is the cord ok?"
Its almost like I felt I had passed all these other milestones.. and survived ok, now the only thing left was the unpredictable. Being that she was breach I worried constantly about that cord. I freaked when she went quiet for hours..

yes I think about this too, everytime I go to reach for something or stretch I worry about it....Think I worry about it because I know of a similar story too and it's scary

I worry about this all the time too...this is why I am eating candy corn by the truckful. I like to make sure that the baby is always moving...

My  cord is around his neck. You can see it in the 3d sono pics (my avatar or my album) I freak out every day about it. The doc says it is normal and very hard for a baby to hurt himself with it. Please don't worry about it too much.

I'm nervous all the time. Including right now cause I haven't really felt her this morning. I woke up at 6am, wasn't feeling her and poked and shook my stomach till she moved. Now I am not feeling her again, so I'm worried again.

I didn't really think much about it when I was preggo with DS. But after my first push and his sudden drop in heart rate, the Dr. knew the cord was wrapped around something. Turns out it was wrapped around his neck and all was still fine and I delivered vaginally.
