Please let me know if you know their ballpark figure for 4 hour reception...or with the cocktail hour included in it too...

Vinny from High Voltage (he's a vendor on this site, as well as LIWs .. I'm even quoted under the 'testimonials' on his website )
I got married in 2004 so I'm not sure what his current prices are, but he was VERY REASONABLE.. for his 'top' package at the time we paid $1100 (that included DJ/MC , dancers, giveaways, light show, etc..)

We used high voltage and he was very resonable. I am not sure of the exact price that his packages start at, but it is around $700

I can reccomend two:
Satisfaction Guaranteed - excellent DJ's and MC's ... always gets a party going non-stop ALL NIGHT long. Real fun guys who like to have a good time and enjoy what they do for a living. They have done numerous parties for my family & friends (my College graduation, my parents 25th, about 8 friends weddings, block parties, etc...)
Twice as Good - also excellent DJ's and MC's. Very knowledgeable about not only current trends but also good in older settings if neccessary. They party all night long and really know how to read a crowd. They also have been to numerous parties for family & friends (my wedding, my sweet 16, about 4 or 5 friends weddings, an 80th birthday party, block parties, etc ...)

I had a Steel Drum Band for my wedding, but my brother is looking for a djb, we are unsure what an average price is...no frills, no light shows..just good music and someone who can get them up and dancing!!!

Just want to make sure...this is a 4 hr wedding right?
we paid 1800 with Tommy tunes for nothing but dj/mc...dont know if its good or not but they were excellent!

I'd have to disagree.. I used them for my wedding and they weren't bad, but they weren't great either, but I wouldn't use them again.

Apple Entertainment, they are great! We paid $1800 I believe for our cocktail hour and reception. We have used them for several parties and have never been disappointed. Disclaimer - The owner used to date my mom's bf 30 years ago when they were all in HS but he isn't a close family friend or anything like that.
