Just wanted to say that I DEFINATELY get a ton of support over here and my questions are always answered. I am always rooting for everyone over here, and admire the strength of each and every one of you.

I hope I didn't offend anyone with my comment. It's not that I feel out of place, it's just that most of you ladies are doing IVF and when you ask questions or talk about it, I cannot be of any help because I don't really know anything about it. I try to help the girls who are just starting out with their issues, though, because that's what I know the most about. Maybe a PP was right in suggesting an addition to the TTC board.

I don't think you offended anyone with your comment. We are all at different points in our journey and it does seem as though a lot of us have been/are doing IVF lately... but any of us who are at IVF now for the most part have done clomid, injectables, IUIs, etc in the past... so I would think you would get a ton of support even though we aren't necessarily going through it with you at the same time.
As someone who has been here longer, though not as long as some others, I can see both sides of it. Some people who have been here a while are tired of answering certain questions over and over again (and this has nothing to do with you- I'm talking in general) and feel that opening the IF board up to ppl who haven't been trying very long would just get more overwhelming as far as trying to follow everyone's stories. I think that a lot of the ppl from TTC know when they've hit a point or when something 'isn't quite right' and they come over to ask us, knowing that one or more of us has probably been there. Hopefully I didn't offend anyone in my response.

I think the point maybe was lost that some people felt like infertility was a certain "thing" (category) they may not fit into yet and yet belonged here none the same.

I didnt try for 12 months before going to an RE , not too many do and when this board started most of the people who started it, myself including had not done IVF yet. Many of the People who started this board never even did IVF in the end, so I hope no one thinks that its an "ivf" board.

i will admit when this was created it was a little more open, a little easier to ask silly questions IMO, then I feel it is now,

But its a GROUP board. People have to make it its own and I think rather then change the NAME of the board maybe changing the understanding of what purpose it serves would help all

I have to agree with the "it is what it is" philosophy and TTC is a much different process then dealing with infertility. I know that I am new here but find the women here and information here much more relevant to my needs then the TTC board.
Just my 2 cents...

my issue is reccurent loss and while as of yet we have not done iui/ivf I have had to go through many many tests/ medications, surgeries etc. and the woman on this board have been a huge support.

In the infertility world reccurrent loss people kind of make up a small percent who don't get talked about as much..for example i have had to fight with my insurance company to cover tests because in their defintiton i don't fit 'infertility" but in the end we are fighting to grow our family with medical assistance so in my mind it is the same thing....

So if people want to call the board something different like fertility challeneged..i would be ok but please don't make smaller seperate boards like 6 months trying, ivf, iui etc..because as it is i don't fit into "categories" and i feel like we can all support one another in the general infertility board.
