a few questions (long)
Ok, DH and I are not actively TTC. I am not BC anymore and it would be a blessing if it happens, but we are still being somewhat careful....This is my 2nd full cycle off BC and my body is way out of whack...here are a few of my questions since you guys seem to be a great source of info to someone starting this part of her life. 1: When does a cd1 start? When AF is totally gone? 2: other then a test is there another way to know when you O? 3: I feel like I always have pregancy symptoms..for example....My nipples are tender, I am exhausted, and my stomach is out of whack...but it happened last mont too but i got AF...is it normal during your cycle around the time of O to feel this way?
I guess while on BC everything was so stable but now that I am going through a "cycle" it is normal for my body to change throughout out right?

Welcome!
CD1 is the first day of full flow. Spotting doesn't count.
The only other way to absolutely know for sure that you are ovulating would be blood work/sonograms. Otherwise you can use ovulation predictor kits or a fertility monitor. The kits can be urine, saliva and there's even a watch- although i'm not sure how well it works.
And as for your symptoms- I have never really been on BCP and I always feel exhausted and have sore breasts the week before AF.

Re: a few questions (long)
i was never on BC so maybe some of the other girls can help you with that...
but to answer some of your questions..
CD1 is the start of AF.. full force AF , not spotting..
to know when you are ovulating,, you can either use the OPK's , chart, OR, you can go to Mymonthlycycles and it predicts when you O..but its not a great source.. it just estimates.
and pregnancy symptoms and AF symptoms can be very much alike.. so it fools alot of us in thinking that we are PG , when we are not.

Re: a few questions (long)
This can probably answer many of your questions
CD 1 = the first day of AF where you need to wear a pad/tampon.
You can check your CM (cervical mucous) to give you an IDEA of when you're ovulating. You'd want to look for CM that is the consistency of egg-whites. You could be Oing anywhere from 1-5 days after seeing that.
Tender breats/nipples, diarrhea, and being exhausted can be either PMS symptoms or pregnancy symptoms. I get all three before AF comes, so would never assume them to be pregnancy symptoms for my own body.
