My 12 week sono you could see lips and nose for sure.
See Pickles16's caption under her chat icon. It says "baby LIPS coming in Dec." Apparently the baby had large lips in her 12 week sono.
I was kidding.

too funny!
my little one looked absolutely adorable at my 12 wk sono and then at my anatomy scan at 20 wks the pictures came out all wierd looking...i was worried for a second, then realized it was more than likely due to the fact that the little  would not stand still!
don't worry at all  your little one will be beautiful!

i wouldnt stress it.. there is no way you can figure out the babies features or what it will look like from a sonogram.
we were expecting my nephew to have big cheeks from the looks of his sonogram and had barely any cheeks...
its all in the way they are angles and the machine is angled.. dont worry.

I think everyone is making too much of this. I am sure that op is concerned for her baby's health first and foremost.
Yes, babies look weird in sonos- features look out of balance.
I am sure that she was just thinking out loud.... Don't be soo harsh.

I remember looking at my 10 week sono and asking the tech... what's that thing on her head? She looked FREAKY! Look at the points coming out of her head! And then look at my avatar

I've never seen a sono pic that looked like a 'real' baby ........I especially hate those 3D things that people shove in your face and say LOOK how BEAUTIFUL he/she is ..... -Um, he/she looks like a freakin smooshed alien !! - And you KNOW that's not what the baby ever looks like once they're born -
Your kid will be beautiful !! Not to worry !!

It's was an alien!!!! Big huge head, which made up 1/2 of its body, eyes on the side of it's head too-- and little stumps for arms and legs. But, that's what the baby is supposed to look like at that stage.

yes mine too! they gave me a 3D pic at 12 weeks, looked like an alien
