Acupuncture
Has anyone ever tried it? My girl friend (who's into the holistic way of life) swears by it. She didn't use it to get prego, but for other things and it worked. Plus, she said women she knew who wanted to get prego tried and it worked for them. You think I should try it? I've never tried it, but probably b/c I'd feel weird with pins in me. OH, and I think of Charlotte from SATC.

Re: Acupuncture
I did acupuncture during my 2nd IVF cycle. While I did get a BFP my first IVF cycle (w/o the acupunture), I miscarried that pregnancy. My 2nd cycle, gave me much much better results, and I continued with acupunture until I was 8 weeks pregnant. I'm not just about 18 weeks. If anything, it definately relaxes you and puts you in a different frame of mind. The less stress when TTCing the better. I'm a huge advocate of acupuncture!

Thanks! That helps a lot. Maybe I will try it... I'll ask my friend if she has anyone she recommends...

Re: Acupuncture
My mom's cousin couldn't get pregnant for anything and did accupuncture. Now she has 3 young children.
I haven't tried it yet, but want to. I just don't know about the cost.

Re: Acupuncture
I just called my insurance provider and they only cover it if you have tried other procedures to cure the problem first and a dr reccomends it.

My friend has one that she can recommend on Long Island. We're actually going out with her and her husband later tonight so I'll ask her... I think she said he's reasonable too. About $150 to $200. Which, if it works it's not a bad price.

I'm thinking of trying this.
How much does it cost per session? How often do you go?

alot of insurance companies don't cover acupuncture. If you are planning on doing acupuncture, make sure you seek out and use an acupuncturist that specializes in fertility

Re: Acupuncture
After 4 failed IUI's and 3 failed IVF's (2 year period of time), I did acupuncture and was preggo within 2 months. I am preggo again and I have to give credit to acupuncture treatments again. I am still going and it's great!
I go once a week and it's $85. My insurance does not cover it, unfortunately. Even being preggo, I still go b/c it's so good for me. As I get further into my pregnancy, I will cut down to every other week but for now it's weekly. For the first 3 months, the acupuncturist does what is called "a holding" treatment to help keep from miscarrying.
I recommend it. If you have any questions, FM me.

Wow... that's great. You're gonna have to let me know who you go to? How many times do they suggest you go for it to work?

I am dealing with IF and will start accupuncture later this month. I am planning on going to the Berkley Center for Reproductive Wellness. It's on 40th and Madion.
