Nervous!
Okay, with 2 weeks to go - and with the pressure ive been feeling down below - im starting to get quite nervous about the whole delivery experience.
Alot of you girls sound so ready to go - but come on - aren't you nervous!!??? At least alittle? In a way - i hope this baby comes out already - in a way - i don't think i would mind if i had another day of preparation mentally for myself and the baby.
My pregnancy has been a great experience - this last month has been the toughest but only recently - i can't wait to meet my little baby - but im so nervous about what lies ahead with the delivery primarily.
Anyone else feel this way?

Re: Nervous!
I have alot of pressure too. Sorry if it is TMI but alot of pressure in the rectal area. Is that normal? I am nervous but more because I am bringing home a second child, I wil have two to be responsible for.

Re: Nervous!
I know its hard but try not to be nervous. Giving birth is the most beautiful, natural experience of life. You are going to do great and meeting your baby for the first time is so amazing.

Re: Nervous!
Perfectly normal to feel this way. I freaked out months in advance about giving birth. Cried about what the pain would be like and the "unknown". Everyone in the hospital makes you feel comfortable and is very helpful...especially the nurses. Just remember that the pain is only temporary.

Re: Nervous!
I think its totally normal to feel like this. I go through times where I'm really nervous about it too. I just keep trying to reassure myself by telling myself that women have been giving birth for hundreds of years...and I know I'll have excellent medical care

Re: Nervous!
I was nervous as soon as I got my BFP knowing that I was eventually going to have to go through labor. As Monkeybride said it is a wonderful experience and while it is difficult, it is so rewarding to meet your little one.

Re: Nervous!
It completely depends what hour of what day you talk to me. Sometimes I'm a nervous wreck about the whole labor process, and then other times I'm like "bring it on" I want this pregnancy to be over already! About two weeks ago I got really nervous and couldn't think about anything else, but now I'm in that phase where I feel like I'm as ready as I'll ever be.

Re: Nervous!
I was SO nervous and I knew when it was happening! I cried in the car on the way to the hospital for many reasons. And you know...when the time came to push....I was still scared but so excited that my baby was here, that it was all real.
Your feelings are completely normal....this is so new to us. You're doing GREAT and when labor starts, the feeling will go away. I'll admit that even having her hoome for a month...I sometimes still don't think I'm ready to handle this BUT looking at her just melts my heart!

Re: Nervous!
i'm really nervous .. scared to death actually! i cannot take pain AT ALL and that is my worst fear. dh keeps telling me everything will be fine and obviously the 'baby trend' caught on after hundreds of years since everyone is still doing it! but i can't help but be scared ... i just keep picturing holding him for the first time and keeping that image in my head ... seems to work ok

Re: Nervous!
Thanks ladies for all your responses, its because of you all that I have the courage I need, knowing that you have gone through it and we are going through it together... I know it will be a beautiful experience - I guess its good to keep in mind that when our little ones are here all the pain will disappear

Re: Nervous!
Try not to be nervous. I am not going to lie - it's hard, and sometimes painful, but when it's over - you immediately feel like you have accomplished the greatest feat on earth, and you can do ANYTHING!!
For me I was most scared of pushing - when they told me I would start pushing soon I started crying to husband and saying I don't want to do this...but when the time came - I couldn't wait to get her out.
In a lot of ways I can't wait to have another baby and experience labor all over again. I think the second time around I will be a lot more aware of what is happening and I can enjoy the whole birthing process more.
It may sound cliche - and I know a lot of women give birth - but my daughter feels like such an accomplishment to me. Even though she is 1/2 of my husband - I feel like I cooked her, I cared for her for 9 months, she was my responsibility - and I birthed her - sacraficed myself for her - it is the single most incredible feeling. I feel like being a mom can be the ultimate in selfless acts.
The hours, days, weeks and months she has given me was well worth 9 months of pregnancy and 15 hours of labor - I have a suspicion you will feel the same way after you give birth. Don't be scared - it's amazing!!

Re: Nervous!
Yes I totally understand how you feel. I was a complete mess about labor & delivery. I took a Lamaze class and it did make me feel better. But now it looks like I will be induced and i'm starting to freak out about all the "extra" pain I am going to feel. But ready or not Here He Comes! Hope they have lots of Meds on hand

Re: Nervous!
I still have 2 & 1/2 months to go and I'm already a nervous wreck about L&D. I had a leg cramp last week and was crying to DH about "I can't even handle a cramp in my leg...how in the world am I going to give birth???" The answer I came up with? DRUGS!!! I still get scared every time I think about it though.
